Warning, Warning - Hotel under construction and noise is terrible. They are doing construction on the 3rd floor best I can tell and this jack hammers and banging rises up through the floors. Originally I was on the 7th floor but then moved to 12th floor. The noise is still there but not as bad. On Wednesday night at 7:00PM the noise was still there. The building is 30 floors with the pool and one restaurant on that floor. The noise is not heard on this floor. I had mentioned to staff about the noise and that disclosure should be made on the booking engines but little resulted. Very poor situation. On top of this there are two elevators out of 6 that didn't work and in a giant hotel like this the number of people moving is incredible so people are regularly riding in the wrong direction just to get into an elevator after waiting on floors without air conditioning. Just too crowded for any form of relaxation anywhere you go in this property. Will give it a pass next time and go elsewhere.

The elevators are horrible. The service is so slow. They did not have anything prepared for us and we upgraded to the VIP experience. The bathroom was so gross. The pool had extremely limited seats, availability and was way too crowded

The breakfast menu was fresh but remained the same everyday, with high made breakfast a tedious affair because of the low protein options available daily. I had an excellent ocean view. The beds were a little tired and lumpy, but I have learned that they are updating the rooms. The venue is perfect for those wanting to enjoy Copacabana as it's almost centrally to the stretch

Our room had no air conditioning and the toilet did not fully flush. We checked in a 4 pm and no additional room that was ready could be found or was looked for until 11pm and that room was not made up and in horrible state. No one looked at the AC until 9:30 pm when we were told they would at 7pm. There were no chairs for the table in the room and the balcony door would not close fully. We had to wait until the next day for a new room. We asked for a fan to help us sleep which was brought up but it was full of dust! We did get a better room although for the hot water in the shower to work you had to turn the tap on for 10 minutes and then it came out. Disappointed and we were promised compensation but in the end they gave us $30.00 off some food and drinks we purchased.

The Othon Palace is perhaps the best value luxury in Copacabana. The hotel is located on Atlantic Ave directly across from the beach yet strikes a balance between catering to all travelers with top spa services, steam sauna, rooftop infinity pool, restaurant and bar --while also providing a convenient and fulfilling buffet breakfast everyday. The hotel staff really go above and beyond to make staying here a special experience. The sushi restaurant and bar at the ground floor is also superb.

Staff was polite and attentive. My mom's high blood pressure was a little high one night, and they asked about her everyt night, and insisted on checking her blood pressure again. The bar Wave, across the street, should improve the mechanism to make sure ONLY hotel guests are admitted as advertised. A couple of housekeeping ladies asked for tips, but the Front Desk gathered all the information to address the issue.
