"To start with, it seemed to us like this was the first time rental for this property and nothing was ready to have customers staying in the place. Things we found that should have been taken care of prior to guest arrival:Provide bathroom toiletries other than paper and hand sanitizer. Clean the hair and dust from the tubs and sinks. Master shower completely clogged up and did not drain until I poured Liquid Draino in the drain; which helped a bit. In the kitchen you needed to remove the packaging from the inside of dishwasher and secure it so that it does not move when the door is opened. We found plastic utensils everywhere and only a few cups, glasses and plates. The house holds at least 6 guests and there were barely enough settings for three. The 3 car garage was really a one vehicle car port. Fit and finish of the place seemed less than half complete. Walls and trim were painted but very poorly done and probably needed a second coat. Paint dripping on countertop and windows. No cable. No internet. I think it was just not connected yet. Still appeared like a construction site. Outside temperatures at night were below freezing and two of three bedrooms had no heat source or very minimal at best. Only positive point was the secondary contact, Kevin was great and did help us by providing supplies that should have been at the property before we arrived. The primary contact was none responsive."

"It was very private and quiet and a secluded area. It was a clean, cute little place. Only thing that drove me crazy was the acorns that kept falling on the tin roof. Overall great stay!"

"The Gillen House is a perfect destination if you are looking for a relaxing and peaceful getaway that is close to Athens and not too far away from Atlanta. The hosts, Edward and Cynzia, were very welcoming and made us feel at home. The food at breakfast was excellent. Especially the steaks and sides that we had for dinner on our arrival evening. The room was spotless and perfect. We definitely enjoyed our stay!"
