The staff is very nice and the rooms are very clean. The elevator needs caution though as it closes too quickly and it may crush you or your loved ones.

My room, upgraded to a suite, was clean and comfortable, although quite stuffy at night due to the lack of A/C. The staff was courteous and professional. The food service (dining room and room service) as very good. The Akros does not compare to the big chains in terms of amenities, but in terms of service and comfort it is outstanding, and definitelyi more affordabe.

There was no air conditioning in the rooms which forced you to open the two, very small, windows to attempt to get air. EVERY NIGHT after midnight or so and just about every thirty minutes an incredibly loud alarm would go off. Sometimes for thirty seconds sometimes for fifteen minutes. I’ll never stay there again

Love the lobby - elegant decor and great swing music. Also the only place you can get secure wifi in the building (guests' rooms have only open /not secure wifi). It is next to a main road, so bring your earplugs.

Good location and value for money

This is an older hotel that is in need of an upgrade, however, its well located and is still comfortable. Think 1980's decor and youre on the money. Is in a good part of town, next to a 24hr pharmacy, 10min walk to a large mall. Internet was average.

Excellent location and value hotel

Stayed for 4 nights over a three week period. Staff were super helpful in this standard business hotel located in a main Quito avenue convenient to the Ecovia bus line (if you like intimate travel that is cheap). Rooms were clean with ok bathrooms and nice showers. 1pm check out was super convenient - with a 2pm check in. Not a tourist hotel so staff only speak Spanish - which was just what I wanted. Very convenient for the Botanic Gardens and the must see Guayasamin museum. Definitely would stay again.

I got way over charged on the laundry service. Even though they discounted the original price of $80 to $58, the total was probably twice as much as the actual value of my clothing (a couple tee shirts and underwear). The bag in the room did not have the slip attached to it that included the prices so I was more or less tricked into this ridiculous fee. The people at the front desk also directed me to take a taxi to a park instead of the bus (which was said to be inconvenient), which ended up costing me $50. I took the bus on the way home which was far more convenient, cost less than $1, and did not involve a half

Has what you need for a short stay

The hotel was fine for my short stay there. The rooms are simple and quite well kept. I wish there was a way for me to control the air conditioning/heating directly. If you need a convenient location to stay at an affordable price, this hotel will do the trick!
