Walk out the front door and cross the street you are at the city walls. A short walk south and see the sunset and get great pictures of the Chateau Frontenac on one side and the Plains of Abraham on the other.

The bathroom light was on a timer and twice the lights turned off while I was in the shower. The bathroom sink was small. The room was large but basic.

Didn’t realize there is no staff on site when I booked it, probably my fault for not fully reading, but it worked out fine. Was able to drop off luggage ahead of check-in using a luggage closet on-site with keyless entry. The location is the main advantage at a very reasonable price relative to other nearby options. There is no elevator, narrow hallways, and the spiral staircase is difficult to manage with luggage. So might not be a good option for anyone with limited mobility. But overall a good value and I would stay there again.

Reservation through Expedia was easy. Received our access codes by email 2 days before our stay. There is no front desk for this facility--access us via PIN pad on front and room doors. Our room was 3 flights up a spiral staircase. Great location. Easy walk to many restaurants and the boardwalk in front of the Chateau Frontenac. We liked this place. Low price, great location, quiet, and nobody bothers you. With no front desk at which to check in you won't be embarassed by attempting to speak French immediately upon arrival!

I am basing this review on two rooms - we travelled with my 80+ yo parents, they were in one room on the second floor, my husband and I had a room on the 3rd floor. The second floor room was clean, bright, very well appointed, and a nice view to the park across the street. The room my husband and I took was awful. It reeked of old cigarette smoke that had not been adequately cleaned out of the room - obvious that it had in the past been a smoking room. Dark, older outdated furniture, rusty shower curtain rod, broken shower handle... I could go on but the ultimate worst part was the horrible smell. The only reason we did not leave was because my parents were settled into the very nice room. That being said, you cannot run a "hotel" with such drastic variations in quality room by room - rehab ALL of them before you open to the public. I would not stay there again due to the uncertainty of what kind of room you end up with. And there is NO staff on site - not sure the posting on Expedia really made that clear - no daily room service or daily cleaning or replenishing of items - there was a closet that had extra towels and Keurig pods, but it was for the entire place. Just bad bad bad - I will pay extra for the Marriott next time we travel to Quebec.

Quebec visit

The location was great. Positive points: 1.Close to main landmarks and walking distance to others attractions and restaurants. 2. Shower with hot water. Negative points: 1.The hotel condition is outdated including the room decor. No elevators so you need to carry your suitcase to your room. I was on the 3floor. 2.WiFi not working well every minute it will go out. 3. Towels and bed linen need improvement. I have to give credit that the location was the best part next to the park planes of Abraham. The hotel is located in a busy street area in front of the hotel crossing the street they are benches were I sat just to wait the people walking up and down the street. I felt safe in the area. Warning Quebec is a walking city bring your walking shoes. The hip on and off bus was fanstatic I took the 2 day pass and made great use of it.

This place was average at best. Not really a "hotel".. no front desk, no lobby, no daily housekeeping. You enter the building and walk up a staircase and your at the hallway with the rooms. Our room was clean, but had no window which it made it feel even smaller and claustrophobic. The bathroom was clean but tiny. Simple things were missing like a suitcase stand. The pictures online were deceiving.

The location was perfect and the experience of staying in a historical building dating back to 1845 was special. The family room was large, clean and comfortable. The circular staircase for three flights was a bit of a challenge, but we were up for it!

This property is staff-less. The codes for front door and room door are sent on the day of arrival. Our room was located on the top floor. Three sets of spiral stairs to reach room. Extremely difficult with 45lb bags to carry. No elevators or assistance available. Arrived early and wanted to leave luggage somewhere safe. Only location that was somewhat secure was on third floor. left our bags but felt uneasy about vulnerability. Fortunately, they were ok for the 3 hours. When we were able to access the room it was ample in size and clean. Big bathroom for our room #7 but rooms on the lower floors were not as spacious. There was a coffee maker with pods and condiments but no water. Needed to purchase our own. When we tried accessing the internet, it constantly dropped. Even worse for TV. All channels broke up or froze every 15 seconds or so and stay frozen for about the same amount of time. Then it would either recover or TV would reboot which took about 5 minutes. The welcome text that we received provided us with a phone number in the event of needed support. We called this number several times but it went straight to a recording. No option to leave a message.Used Wi-Fi to reach Expedia portal to leave message.received response much later telling us we needed to contact cable company ourselves. We did to no avail. Reached out again on portal but it seemed they blocked us and we got “cannot connect” more to say but limited text. They were rude and unhelpful. Never Again
