Great property! Looking forward to bringing a group of vets up them. Only issue is we could not get the fireplace to work?

Great for a small group
Lots of room for our 8 person family, including 3 boys under 10yrs. Loved seeing the loon family and swan family close up on the lake. The kids swam, fished, and kayaked.

Very nice, but watch the fees
Very quiet, peaceful lake, and great cabin. Beautiful view of the lake with swans and loons. Close to everything we wanted to access. Quite new, very comfortable king sized bed. But, the fees that were charged for our 5 night stay came to more than the rent. Our bad for missing this when we booked on front end. Not sure if we’ll return given the high fees, but we loved the spot.

Loser due to Lack of Response for Needed Follow-up. Zip Zero Nada
Very frustrating and no resolution of issues. VACASA answers texts and phone calls very politely and assures follow-up, but ultimately there was no response on sparse supplies and a lost item.
We had 2 dishwasher pods and 4 rolls of toilet paper for 6 people (8 were originally booked) for 4 days and 3 nights. After several contacts and being provided an expectation that more supplies would be delivered, we were eventually told that the property contained a "starter kit" and that we had to supply our own after that. Huh? And we were in the middle of nowhere where we had to drive into town to "replenish our starter kit"?? Just plain silly.
And then when someone left a valuable in the closet we were told that they would look into it, but there was ultimately no response.
The place was ok but all the effort at communications and no resolution of issues made it a loser. Unlikely to book through VACASA again.

Peace in the North
My family of 4 (two teens and 2 adults) and our two dogs loved this place! It was just the peace we were looking for. The home was spacious, clean, and inviting. We enjoyed being able to walk right out the back door and out to the lake where we were able to watch swans, loons, eagles, and enjoyed trying to catch some fish off the dock. The canoe and kayaks were also put to good use. We enjoyed the amenities that the house provided as well! The views of the lake from the deck and lower level bedrooms were so peaceful and inviting. We enjoyed our coffee and reading books with those views. Would strongly recommend this property for anyone looking to escape to the peace and calmness of the north woods!

We liked it!
Great experience! Property has plenty of space and online listing was accurate. Lake was nice and has few others. Saw deer in the front yard multiple times. Mosquitoes were pretty ferocious. Beautiful dark sky.

Winchester Lake Home
Easy to find and access. Home was cleaned just prior to our arrival and was very clean. Home is a little quirky, but it was built in the 1960's so that is to be expected and the setting was beautiful. Now the bad part. The fireplace, which I had hoped to use extensively over our 4 day stay in the winter did not work. I tried to get in touch with management but no response after the automated "we will look into it". The worst part was that the walkway leading from the driveway to the home was a solid block of ice and there was no salt or sand to melt the ice or make it less slippery. Several member of my family slipped and fell multiple times.
