It seems like any time Wyndham gets a property the state of the place declines. Zermatt used to be world class, but the whole hotel was left in disrepair and decline. Kind of sad to see it drop.

I'm confident that 20 years ago when the Zermatt was built it was a 5 star resort. Sadly age and lack of maintenance has taken it's toll on the property. You can still tell how it looked back in the glory days, but those days are long gone. To still call this a "resort" is probably disingenuous. Some examples: The pool table has tears in the felt covering and the 8 ball rack is broken (taped together but the tape is broken too). The shuffle board court is unusable due to lack of paint result in a very rough surface. The giant outdoor chess pieces are falling apart. The carpet in the halls is threadbare & torn in places. On the first floor, there is a large section of the ceiling that is missing and replaced with plastic sheeting. The grounds are mowed, but clearly not manicured as you might expect at a resort. On a positive note, the mini-golf course is in pretty good shape as is the carousel. The indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs are nice and seem to be in good shape as well. With a significant investment in maintenance, the Zermatt could be restored to a 5 star resort. I don't know if there is enough traffic or the will to do so.

All of the staff was super nice and helpful to accommodate us with any of our requests or needs. We received the same courtesy at the Z’s on site restaurant as well. The atmosphere so conducive to feeling like one is in the Alps. Midway is a beautiful setting for the Zermatt.

Quiet, comfortable, and fun.

Nice place. I appreciated their beautiful and adorable mini golf course that was included in the resort fee fees. Though I didn’t use the pool, it did look tempting and the water felt nice temperature. The room was comfortable and homey. I do wish there was a mini fridge and microwave, and that I could cast my device to the TV. There were a lot of channels to choose from though. They need to upgrade their port connections for chargers. They only had USB, and a lot of things use USB-C now. I liked the soaps and other toiletries. They smelled good. I like that our room was quiet.
