Beautiful Apartment - I wouldn’t stay again
First, the apartment looks exactly like the photos: nice and clean. It’s also in a terrific part of Paris, close to so many things.
Here’s the main problem: the downstairs neighbor. We were in the apartment for no fewer than five minutes when there was a knock on the door. It was 8pm and the man told us that our footsteps were “scaring his children and they could not sleep.” We were not jumping, dancing, running or anything unusual other than walking from room to room. Even after removing our shoes and constantly telling our kids to be quiet, he returned two nights later. It essentially ruined the experience and made us hate the apartment. Granted, it would not be ideal to live below a VRBO, but these people were not reasonable and ruined the experience. Beware!
Two other things: 1- the apartment listing says 4 toilets when it’s actually 2 showers, 1 bathtub, and 2 separate toilets (not en suite). 2 - it took the management almost 2 weeks to release my deposit despite having to check out exactly at 11am “because they cleaning service will immediately start cleaning.” That didn’t make sense at all.
It’s too bad because it’s a lovely space in a lovely neighborhood. But we won’t stay there again.
