My wife and I had visited Newport via cruise ship twice in years past and wanted more. We decided to stay a few days April 12-16, 2024. Wanting it to be special, I searched for a nice place to stay. After considering several Inns in the area we selected The Francis Malbone House. WE MADE THE RIGHT CHOICE!!! The inn (House) was perfectly located. Very convenient to shops, restaurants, and local destinations. Easy walking distance to the wharf areas. We rented a car and parked in the provided car parking which is behind the inn. The inn was very comfortable and laid out well. We stayed in a newer addition. The inn is historic with period furnishings. Our room was clean, very comfortable and convenient to other rooms in the inn. Breakfast was in a very nice dining area. The menu changed daily and was very tasty. The food presentation was beautiful. Afternoon teas/coffees with sweets and hors d'oeuvres are served daily. The staff was excellent, very friendly, and accommodative. Big shout out to Suzanne, Liz and Tobie. They are wonderful hosts! We cannot say enough good about the Francis Malbone House. During our stay we visited two of the Newport mansions, Rough Point, and the Elms. Both are well worth the visit. On another note, we flew out of Providence RI, the T.F. Green International Airport. The airport is only a short drive from Newport. Approx. 35 minutes. Good roads, easy in and out, modern, but smaller airport, (no crowds). The rental car allowed us to
