Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location, lots of room on the beach, & not over crowded.House was extremely clean. But, the door on the street side was difficult to open because the latch needed adjusting .There were no curtains,blinds,or shades in the kitchen, breakfast area or den so this area was exposed to the outside and got very warm in the evening. Also,there was a new house under construction next door, so it was very noisy from about 7:30 A.M. to 6:30 P.M. ;don't plan on sleeping late in the morning. There were construction workers vehicles parked in the yard as well.Overall, very little rest and relaxation 😌

Kitchen was well supplied, and the upstairs bedrooms and baths were huge! The outside showers and grill were a nice bonus- would stay again in a heartbeat

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We decided last minute to rent this house for a quick fall break getaway. It did not disappoint. It's an older home but well maintained. We loved the quaint beach feel of the decorations. We would definitely rent again. We had 3 adults and 2 children and it was quite roomy for this size group. The wicker furniture in the living area was cute but not so comfortable. But we spent most of our time at the beach, so it was doable!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Seven of us ladies booked Love's a Beach for a relaxing and fun getaway. We arrived and were thrilled to see that there were exactly 7 chairs on the porch! It was meant for us! We had breakfast on the porch every day and appreciated that there were plenty of cups, glasses and dishes along with pots and pans to cook with. The vacuum cleaner was most helpful as each day we found sand getting into the house even with our best efforts to leave our flip flops outside. To be able to fall asleep with the window open, listening to the waves crashing, was a dream for some but in some of the bedrooms there were no screens or even in the main living area. Upon descending the stairs the first time a couple of the ladies found the ceiling to be low enough to hit their heads. One of our favorite features were the two outside showers! We could rinse our feet as well as take showers after learning how to Boogie board for the first time. Yes, the ocean was cool but to us Northeners it was a delight! We experienced some rain while there and found the steps from the porch to be a bit slippery and soon learned how to navigate them with caution. Our endless walks on the beach were therapeutic and rejuvenating. We walked as far as Garden City Pier one day but found that the 2 miles to walk there on sand was tiring. Next time we drove! We walked to the jetty in the opposite direction one day and found it to be a lot further than anticipated and called for a ride home from the ones that turned back.

The beach was not crowded at all. Everything is close by, but we didn’t feel like we were in the center of all the activity. The front porch was my favorite place to be. The house is a bit run down. Some simple updates would make a big difference-better coffee maker, comfortable (clean) living room furniture, for example.

Beds were comfortable. Has all of the kitchen gadgets you would need but again, dated. There are NO frequently used food items like salt/pepper, cooking spray, coffee filters, aluminum foil, etc.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Garden City Rental folks were very easy to deal with, and there were no problems with the rental experience.The house contains ample dishware and utensils, but there is not much pantry space for food.However, the house was deficient in many aspects. Paint is peeling off the outdoor ceilings. The downstairs's ocean-view Jack and Jill bedroom smells like urine (probably from a dog's earlier presence). All of the refrigerator door guards are broken, so no food could be stored in the door itself, limiting the cold space significantly. The washer upstairs easily became out-of-round (even with light loads) and made a very loud sound like a helicopter was upstairs. The top locks down, so you cannot remedy the wash, only await its self-correction. There are no outdoor spigots or hoses to rinse sand off.These are not deal-breakers, but they tarnish the experience.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is a classic GCB house. The pictures are accurate. It could use a great deal of attention but the value is phenomenal for the location. A few things to take note of: there is not a water hose under the house so it makes rinsing equipment off a bit tedious. There are 3 TV’s as listed but they do not have cable at all. They should add streaming services because the TV are useless. The home has great A/C and wide open views but the lack of window coverings means hot afternoons and blinding sunlight while trying to relax around the dinner table. All in all the house has old charm but definitely needs some TLC .

The condition of the chairs and furniture were uncomfortable and in bad shape. We had several mature adults there and recliners and couches would have been really great! When you upgrade your furniture we will come back! Glad to hear you will no longer be pet friendly after this year!!

Loves a beach week of my vacation

I like the lay out of the house and the top floor bedrooms are great.the problem with my stay was lots water bugs and roaches. We had to put our food in containers to be safe. The front door does not stay close , bad tongue on door.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the house is nice......but unfortunately we were greeted by the roaches as we entered the house. The roaches seem to be only in the Kitchen area. I contacted the realty company Monday morning 9:am in person to make aware of the problem. Someone visited either Tuesday or Wednesday to address the roaches. Wednesday evening the roaches seem to be worse. I contacted realty company by phone and I was directed to maintenance dept. There seemed to be no urgency because I never heard from or witnessed any spraying on the problem. The dryer does not dry well at all. We fixed the plumbing under the right side of kitchen sink on Monday after it disconnected own it's own. The master bedroom toilet stopped up multiple times, I was able to use the plunger to resolve.The same toilet seems to have a leak it the tank as well. The owners need to invest and update amenities; suggestions would be to place blinds on the kitchen windows. The evening sun was blinding during dinner hours for our guest facing toward that direction. The back porch was awesome, may make part of it screened:) Garden City as a whole is an awesome vacation area. I enjoyed the fact that I didn't have to leave the area and travel in traffic. Local restaurants and businesses with-in golf cart distance. Having the Wal-mart near was also a plus. The beach area incredible.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We’ve been renting this house since 1973 and it’s a gem. The owners have done more than upkeep. They’ve made improvements that increase capacity but retain a relaxing timelessness that is exactly what we need. The quality of the beach in front is excellent. You can hear the waves and see the ocean easily. It is distant from the Pier traffic but the fun stuff is easily accessible. From the deck you can see the light of Murrill’s Inlet - the best seafood in the state. Shopping is a few minutes out on Rt.17. We hope Love’s a Beach never changes.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The rental was adequate, the furniture was very uncomfortable, the kitchen was well equipped, the doors and windows were not insulated letting the wind come in. You could see the doors were rotting away, daylight came in from the bottom. The door in the laundry that went into the attic blew open when the wind blew from the west.
