First time going out to do some astrophotography. The sky was so clear the view was amazing!. This place is pretty remote but worth getting to.

Irish Bridge over the Afon Irfon, Powys Maps show the road between Abergwesyn to Tregaron crossing the Afon Irfon through three fords in four hundred metres near here. This is the middle one. At each, the road has been built up over pipe culverts to form structures known as Irish bridges. After heavy rain the river flows over all three, which can still be negotiated (with care) as fords. On the day of this image, heavy rain had fallen about 36 hours before and the river was running fairly swiftly. More very heavy continuous downpours were forecast, so I was vacating the area! This road is a picturesque and popular tourist route in the summer months, but can be impassable in icy winter conditions or (for non 4WD vehicles) after heavy rain.
Looking towards Cwm Pisoden, Powys The view from the road shows the farm at Lloft-y-Bard, and past it the wooded Cwm Pisoden. The foreground fields are those of Cwm Cnyffiad, the river being hidden in the trees.
