The Plough Rhosmaen
"The worst aspect of the stay was the food. The duck meal I had was heavily spiced with cinammon or nutmeg- both the sauce and red cabbage. There was no mention of this on the menu. I dislike the flavour and I complained but there was not even an explanation or apology. The breakfast also was uninspiring. ..."

"Perfectly fine for my needs, a one night stop over for cycling. Well situated for some excellent quite lanes, with tough climbs. "As previous posts have mentioned the lack of a car park is inconvenient, however as I was working in the area i was usually arriving back after 6pm and leaving before 8am which meant I could park in the short stay car park near the hotel for free. The Hafod Hotel
"A very nice hotel with lots of character and quirky features. It is ideally located next to the gorge walk and has a few tables outside on the pavement to make the most of the views. We had a room at the top of the hotel with a comfy large bed and lovely bathroom. The staff are young and enthusiastic but lack leadership as witnessed in the dining room. They were disorganised and seemed rather lost. The food at dinner was fairly average but perfectly acceptable."
