Solid budget-friendly oceanfront stay. I must say that after the renovations (still in the midst of renovating other units during my stay) they are pretty clean. Some older motels have a distinct smell when you enter the room but that wasn't a factor during my stay and likely attributable to the newly renovated room. The renovated bathroom was exceptional. The shower is a walk-in and has a rain-style shower head. Good water pressure. The entryway of the room is newly installed hardwood flooring and it seems that they installed new carpeting for the main area. Bed was comfortable. I would be genuinely surprised to find someone who complains about the bed post-renovations, assuming the bed in my room is the same as those in other rooms. There could be a larger comforter for those who are cold at night, but I run hot and the thin bedding didn't bother me. There is no air conditioning so I can understand why others complained about their stay during hotter months. For those sensitive to noise, the walls are very thin. You will hear close to everything. The front door is not completely sealed and I could hear conversation very well for those outside along the walkway. One complaint would be the balcony. The renovations did not seem to touch them, and the railing was dirty as well as the patio flooring. To be fair, it is probably unproductive to deep clean these areas after every stay considering they have constant exposure to sand and salt water. All in all, would recommend.

pros-Very nice double queen room. Beautiful full-on frontal view of beach and ocean. Clean. Lots of towels. Overall nice property. cons-2night stay. no one checked to see if we need more coffee (we did), towels, or anything. for $250/night, it at least warranted a check on us. No extra blanket in room if needed. There needs to be a small store in lobby for aspirin, advil, sun block, hair stuff, candy, chips at least. more if possible. we stay in Best Western and they always have a small store-like place in lobby. Other hotels do too. Lincoln City rolls up the streets @ 9:30pm. There needs to be a way to get stuff needed. Just a suggestion.

It was my first time staying in this Motel. I was pretty scared as I couldnt find too much info about previous stays. I would say it was the best motel experience Ive ever had, even better than some of the hotels I have stayed in. It was clean, had beautiful views, and had direct beach access. Will definitely be staying here again in the future!

Overall, the property was really nice. Access to the beach was top notch. The pool and hot tub were really nice, good temps. I wish our bedroom window and bathroom window had a screen on them. Bathroom vent did not work, and opening a window meant someone could look in your bathroom.

Cozy and comfortable.

Fabulous view and right on the beach. The beds were superb and it was scrupulously clean. This is an older motel, but they have worked hard to keep it updated. The only complaint I have is the lack of insulation between floors. The room above had kids that ran from end to end for over an hour, and it sounded like a herd of horses. I would absolutely stay again, but maybe on the top floor?

The Sandcastle is not fancy or elegant but it is a great place to visit the coast. The Sandcastle has direct access to the beach with great unobstructed views. The staff was great and unobtrusive. We love the Sandcastle.

We really liked the room. It had just been remodeled and it looks nice. Definite downfall was no elevator so be in good shape to climb to the 3rd floor.
