This hotel is a hidden gem! The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had the best sleep ever on the extremely comfortable mattress and heavenly pillows. We were impressed by the extra care free options for visitors who were there for medical treatments at the hospital complex. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit to Houston.

We traveled to Houston for PlantCon and stayed in Hotel Ylem for 4 days! The breakfast was great, the service staff, friendly and helpful, and the room clean and comfortable. We tried one of their dinner recommendations and it was amazing plus the location was perfect. Close to many things, including the NRG stadium where the convention took place, and plenty of food and grocery options. I’ll definitely come back for next years convention! :)

⭐⭐⭐☆☆ 3-Star Review This was my second time staying at Hotel Ylem, and unfortunately, this time didn’t go as smoothly. I arrived around 9:00 PM after booking and paying in full through Expedia. The front desk woman seemed like she was having a rough day and told me I was wrong about the payment being processed, even though my card was already charged and cleared. I calmly offered to use a different card, but then she asked if I was related to someone named Regina (who apparently had my same last name). Turns out they had likely given my room to someone else. I had to wait 15–20 minutes while she tried to figure it out. Eventually, she asked for a card for a deposit — which I was fine with — but it seems she charged $50 on June 1st and then again later, which is still pending as of June 3rd. I plan to call the hotel if both charges go through. The room itself was fine, but check-in was frustrating and poorly handled. Not what I expected from a repeat visit.

This is our second time staying here. I take my dad to MD Anderson for his check ups every year. The area has changed, in a good way! About 12 mins from MD Anderson. Love that it has a small bar. Walking distance to Target, and a chic fil a next door.

Great stay and as expected

I was leary to book this property based on reviews but decided to give it a go. We were in town for two nights for a conference at the NRG Center just a few books away. The property was good and the staff was excellent resolving an issue of my own with room keys. The room wasnt anything over the top but exactly how it was pictured and all that we needed. It was a little humidy and swampy at first, to be expected though our stay was in June. Nothing the A/C unit didnt fix. We did end up checking out early due to a wild amount of noise throughout the night. The mixture of noise and humidy was more than we wanted to endure a second night. This decision was completely personal. The facility were great even though the remnants of a remodel were present it didnt effect our stay. Again the staff was great, upon checking out early the agent walked me through the process to be refunded for our second since we booked through a third party and was nothing but helpful and respectful.

The room and bathroom were very big and roomy. There was a large couch in addition to our beds. The employees came quickly to help us fix the television. Breakfast was decent though there could’ve been more variety. They provided cereal, a small selection of bread and bagel, omelette, sausage patties, yogurt, juice and coffee.
