Five miles south of Canadian, Texas, you will find "Aud", Gene Cockrell's Dinosaur, that he built and named after his wife Audrey. Fifty feet long, seventeen feet tall, and weighing a ton, you won't miss it, just look up on top of the bluff to the east.

In 1916 a steel bridge was built over the waters of the Canadian River for wagon travel. The 3,255 ft pin-connected bridge is the longest in the state. It was closed in 1953 when a new bridge was constructed. In 2000 it was completely restored and is now the focal point for a scenic hike-and-bike trail. The bridge provides a platform for viewing wildlife, including white-tailed deer, wild turkey and waterfowl.
The Sculpture Garden is the home of a large bronze sculpture that the Abrahams commissioned in 1990 called "Coming of Winter: The Forerunner." by William Pochial. It carries an urgent message about the threats to the environment. Mostly, it carries junior high potty humor memories for me as I just remember the 'naked statue' being installed when I was in elementary school down the street. Now that I'm a bit older and kinda more mature, I can appreciate the art behind it. #perspectives
