The Sands is an older place, maybe built in the 60's? They did a light renovation a few years ago, so it is nice. But the best thing about the Sands is the view. They provide a nice little balcony, big enough for a small table and chairs, where you can fade away while watching the never ending boat traffic on the intercoastal. Look the other way and you have a distant ocean view which is also nice. When you first walk in the door to your room your eyes jump to the wall to wall windows and that special view. It is just fabulous. Lots of activity going on below, especially at Lola's bar and restaurant, which is very active, but not too loud. The staff is friendly and they provide coffee and a boxed breakfast of a bagel, yogurt and juice, which is nice.

There really weren't any amenities, not even a coffee maker in the room. My room did have a microwave and small refrigerator. While the room was spacious and nice the rest of the property needed a face lift. The elevator kept breaking. The lady that worked the second shift for check in is great and super friendly. The continental breakfast was really bad. You get a small box with about 4 thinks.

Decent hotel but no where near worth the price. The entrance is fixed up but the rest of the hotel is more motel 6 like. You are not told until after you book that they are going to charge a resort fee, which is apparently is because they have a pool. I have stayed at $39 a night hotels that have a pool. The hotel has a parking lot but you have to pay another $20 a day to park in it. The parking lot across the street doesnt allow overnight parking. The breakfast in the morning comes out in a little box like they are sending you off for a school field trip. Again not a bad hotel but between the high rates and extra fees there are a lot better hotels to stay in.

I thought the room was blah. The room had no fixtures, no decor and the room echoed due to that. Maid never came and cleaned our room. Just expected more from Sands Harbor. Outside is beautiful with the pool and view but lacks TLC in the rooms.

The room was clean and some of the staff need to work on customer service. The receptionist who checked me in was very helpful. The restaurant here is not fully open as of Jan 10th because I asked for dessert and that what I was told. Great room views

horrible customer service stayed there a week multiple issues with being unsafe, hotel, staff not enforcing hotel policies, and a bunch of other things under ownership of new owners, and the manager told me well. That's just Pompano for you and none of my concerns were addressed.

The charge for the “Resort fee” which really doesn’t get you anything used to come with a credit at the bar prior to the remodel. This has been eliminated. We also showed up at 7:45pm to find the bar closing at 8 “Because we aren’t really open yet” even though there were a bunch of people there the staff didn’t want to stay a little longer and make the restaurant or themselves any extra money.
