Jose was friendly, fast and efficient at check-in. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet. Breakfast had a variety of food to choose from and made for a great start to the day. Coalinga is a great halfway point to stop at when driving from north to south California. I felt refreshed and ready to drive the next day.

In the parking lot we saw some cats coming from no where. On the way walking to our room, there was unpleasant smell in the air. The room was clean with vanilla scents, but later after a while, in some certain corner there was that unpleasant smell again in the room. I wonder if the wild cats were let in the room before somehow?? Because of that smell starting from parking lot to inside the room, I did not feel settled and did not have a good stay.

The front desk staff, Jose, was really friendly and yet professional. The room is very clean, and came with complimentary two bottles of water. My only complaint is the cleaning supply smell was way too overpowering and quickly gave me a headache. We left the front door open for about 10 minutes or so to ventilate the air and about 20 flies flew into the room. We must have spent an hour catching all the flies. Other than that, an excellent stay!
