Always the best value and best comfort

Always our go-to place when we stay in Christchurch - the owners are lovely and super hospitable and it’s cheap and cheerful with no extra frills - but that’s reflected in the price which is easily the best value in Canterbury especially with this location. Beds are comfy; rooms are spacious, shower is warm and carparking is included - all the things you need for a quick easy stopover in Chch.

We stayed for three nights, it was quiet despite being near a main highway. The living and sleeping area was fine but we found the lack of an extractor fan in the bathroom and the window not being able to be open just a bit meant the room was damp and full of condensation, there was no shelving to put out toiletries on apart from a ledge by the pedestal basin. There was no smoke alarm fitted and the lighting was poor in the living area. It's just a bit tired and not up to even healthy homes standards. The proprietor was friendly and check in was easy.
