Ducks Ahoy
We were excited to try staying in a floating house. It is well stocked with essentials. The view from the front porch is of the marina and on our final evening there the wind was perfect for sailing and we watched lots of folks sail around the bay. There are lots of great eating options close by.One thing to be aware of is that the property presents some unexpected challenges for people with mobility issues. The only indoor seating is a hide-a-bed in the living room and a sofa that converts to a Murphy bed in the bedroom. The bed is situated sideways with the head on the left side next to a sofa arm. It's a challenging orientation when one elderly person has to "dive and roll" to get to the inside of the bed against the wall. :-) A positive note: the bed is VERY comfortable. There are no adult sized chairs inside the house and no table for eating or games. There is a comfortable outdoor couch on the front porch with a gas firepit to enjoy a cool evening. The back porch has four Adirondack style chairs but they are SMALL. Fortunately, we live close by so we ran back and grabbed our camp chairs and used them inside and on the back porch.Once we adapted, we really enjoyed the stay. I should have noticed these things in the pictures but there you have it. Now that we know how to prep for us, we'll likely stay again.
