I’d stay here again. The only downside was the noise from being right next to the street—I had requested a quieter room, but it seems none were available. The area is very walkable, which was a big plus. The staff was accommodating and even offered to store my luggage a couple of days after I’d checked out when I was back in the area.

Property was clean and had friendly and helpful housekeepers. Front desk staff didn’t seem friendly and didn’t engage with tenants unless requested. When asked to help fix AC, they seem bothered.

The entry is nice and located on an offstreet from La Rambla. Nights will be loud outside the hotel but that is hardly a major concern if you want to stay in this area full of clubs and history. The beds were very small and though we requested a queen equivalent, they refused the request and when i asked at the desk, they said to check back the next day. Of course nothing magically came available. The worst part was the lack of reasonable air conditioning. It was extremely hot out and the room was boiling when we checked in. The air conditioning thermostat appeared to be entirely decorative, and there was no cool air coming out of the vent. I was repeatedly "taught" how to put the card in the wall and open and close the windows to trigger the AC censor and then the staff would try to gaslight me into believing the vent was now working. A maintenance worker came to adjust it and opened up the ceiling, leaving dust and debris all over the bathroom and bedroom floor. We requested to have our booking refunded and allow us to find another hotel because we could not sleep with the heat and they refused. Expedia said they would only process a refund if the hotel allowed it. Leaving the AC on for 2 days straight left the room feeling comfortable enough to sleep, but it was wildly inefficient. Breakfast had virtually the same variety of options every day. Pretty good selection over all.

This is a beautiful hotel with the friendliest staff. They were soooo helpful when my friend’s passport, cash and credit cards were stolen. They were so supportive. It was quiet there and very clean! Would highly recommend this hotel.

Great location, average room

The staff was very friendly and welcoming! Please make sure you understand that rooms require the keycard inserted to turn on the A/C, so the rooms can be quite hot to return to. Also, because the hotel is environmentally friendly they change your sheets every five days, except upon request for sooner. I appreciate the environmental approach, but want to make people aware. The location is excellent, right in the middle of the gothic quarter. Unfortunately, during my stay there was a foul smell that pervaded the hallways and sometimes even my room. It smelt of sewage, but hopefully that is fixed promptly.

The property itself was fine. However, air France was a mess and we lost a day in Barcelona and still had to pay for a night we weren't able to enjoy. I would book again with them. The rooms are super small and the biggest bed was a double. So if you are tall like us I would recommend a different place. As well as one that will give refund for things out of your control.
