"We were given an extremely warm welcome by Ramsay on our arrival. He could not have been more helpful. When our 3 year old grandson came to visit, Ramsay even brought ..."

Stunning 6 bedroom 6 bathroom country home with large private indoor heated swimming pool
"We honestly didn’t want to leave Craig Alvah Lodge! From the moment we arrived, we fell in love with the place. It’s tucked away in such a beautiful, peaceful setting, surrounded by woodland and nature, and it was exactly the escape we needed. We loved being able to step straight out and explore the surrounding area. We had some lovely walks through the woods, down towards Alvah Bridge and past the Ice House towards Duff House. There are so many little paths and places to discover, and it was just lovely being able to slow down and enjoy the scenery. The lodge itself was lovely and comfortable, and the whole setting has such a special atmosphere. There’s something incredibly calming about being surrounded by nature with hardly any noise or hustle and bustle. We genuinely felt relaxed here in a way we haven’t for a long time. We had 4 children with us between 11 and 15 and from the minute they woke up to going to bed they never stopped, the facilities for them are great and walks kept them going all day and we didn’t hear ‘I’m bored’ once. Banff itself is lovely too, the people in the village of Banff are so welcoming and lovely. We used a little bakery called The Home Bakery, lovely lady with beautiful treats and her sausage rolls are to die for! We also went in to John Stewart quality butcher on the high street. Again lovely people that work there, they helped us with all our questions wondering what food was what. We ended up buying meat the day before we came home and because it’s a 10 hour journey they vacuum packed the meat for us… absolutely beautiful food! Just a short walk round the front of Banff is a beach Called Boyndie beach stunning white sand. Craig Alvah Lodge is one of those places that you leave already thinking about when you can come back. We had such a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere beautiful, peaceful and away from the usual holiday chaos. We will definitely be back! ❤️"
