There's a wood burning stove and the home smells quite strongly of smoke. Our clothes smelled of smoke and we developed a lot of congestion to the point we couldn't breathe well. It's an old home, and while a good portion of the home has been nicely remodeled, the living and dining room is cheaply furnished and the mattress we used upstairs was quite uncomfortable. While the host told us it was a water bug we saw in the home, cockroaches and water bugs are part of the same family, and water bugs are strictly aquatic insects. We found a dead cockroach in our clothing when we returned home. There's no shampoo/conditioner provided, and the washing machine left our clothes damp. Even after drying our clothes twice in the dryer, there was an odor, and our whites had changed to a slightly grayish color. The bed downstairs was comfortable, the pool table was fun, and we appreciated having Netflix and AC. The skylights woke us quite early in the master downstairs, but otherwise, it was nice.
