Surf & Sand Hotel
"We booked this trip last minute since we only live about three hours away, and most of the condos were already booked. We’d looked at this property before and decided to give it a try. Overall, we had a good weekend. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the breakfast was really good, and the location is fantastic—right in the center of Pensacola Beach. The retro beach vibe is fun, and we enjoyed the atmosphere of the property. That said, for the price, we probably wouldn’t stay here again. We paid a little over $700 for two nights, and while it was less than a condo, it wasn’t significantly less. For a few hundred dollars more, we could have had a full kitchen, more space, and newer accommodations. The rooms have been updated with fresh paint, colorful headboards, and fun beach-themed décor, but the property itself is starting to show its age. While everything appeared clean, there are areas that have a worn feel that fresh paint alone can’t completely fix. For the rates being charged, I think the rooms could benefit from a more substantial renovation. We also had a few issues during our stay. The toilet ran continuously throughout the night, the door had a noticeable gap, and the beds and pillows were not very comfortable. One thing that would make a big difference is providing a broom or small vacuum in each room. Being so close to the beach, sand gets tracked in constantly, and there’s no easy way for guests to clean it up.Overall, we’re glad we had the experience"
