Red Roof Inn West Monroe
"all ok generally speaking, hotel is old but fairly well kept up. I wasn't expecting 5 star anyway. downside was next door to a Mexican Cafe & outdoor bar which was easily heard very late into the night. When I was there a very large group of construction workers from Florida (per their truck license plates) most of whom preferred to speak their dialect of spanish loudly into the late evening. In my experience no dialect of spanish can be spoken quietly. It is located near excellent food, Walmart & multiple gas stations, Bedding was very clean, soft and of good quality. A/C heat worked great. My room was 103 next to the lobby ground floor- too much activity for me. also had a guy staying in 105 park his diesel truck backed into park'g space which put the exhaust pointed directly to my A/c fresh air intake- not good result- I had to get mgr involved to stop it as he would sit in truck running for hours. what??? 2nd Night I moved to Super8 Motel on north side of I-20 @ $45 cheaper with none of the disingenuous activities. Same age hotel, more recent update, cleaner quieter."
