Pine Grove Cottage - Romantic Getaway on Private Lake
"This was an excellent place to stay out in the country while visiting NE Texas. We really enjoyed our stay w/ 3 kids (9, 6, 4) and one elderly. The house is cute and well-appointed with everything you need for your stay. The private pond is beautiful and close to the house, but not TOO close (FYI if you have really little ones). There were 2 rowboats and a canoe which we enjoyed. We saw fish moving though didn't catch any ourselves. Paula the host was extremely helpful and responsive. Just a couple of things to be aware of: 1) the loft with twin bed is up a ladder and not a good choice for small children or adults without sufficient strength and coordination. This means you really have just two bedrooms (one king, one queen I believe), plus the pull-out couch. Also 2) Pittsburg is pretty far out from Longview, Tyler (35 min-1 hr), etc and on country roads - it's lovely and quiet but some people might want to be closer to town, or not want to drive on the winding roads at night. Overall though it's a very nice place, good value and with a wonderful host."
