The room was fine , the hotel is a little soulless, it’s part of a commercial office building, you walk straight from the front entrance to the lifts inside , hardly any staff, struggled for service at breakfast the first day the second day was fine, beds very comfortable, on reflection perfect for walking into Chester but would try somewhere else next time.

Tv had broken in first room and made a drink but then no milk in room. Reception staff lovely, swapped and upgraded our room but not enough towels so went back to old room to bring a 2nd set and went to see if we could turn the heating down and get air con on which she kindly did. Rooms nicely furnished and ours had a great view of the race course as requested. Breakfast on 5th floor is a lovely venue but we had to ask if there was cereal or fruit & yoghurt as no mention of it, none out or on the menu or from the staff- there is!! The cooked breakfast was excellent as was the 5th floor location and view. Despite the housekeeping glitches we had a nice stay for a special birthday as rooms were comfortable, spacious and good location for walking to the shops and underground parking just not an ' amazing' stay!

Had issues upon check-in. I wasnt promised the room i booked, although i called them directly to request the room and also called to confirm the room prior to arrival. The staff through-out had no idea what customer experience is about and sadly we felt like the fault is ours and not theirs and get treated like 3rd class citizens. I will at least leave this as a positive- the check-out was the best part of the experience. I will never stay at any Abode, but the one Chester was just pure C.R.A.P !!! Abode management- train your staff in customer experience !!!

Always stay here when in Chester because of the location and great breakfast. Unfortunately breakfast not up to usual standard but the staff dealt with it promptly. Also room had a drainsge smell when we arrived but the receptionist dealt with it promptly and gave us a free upgrade and a courtesy drink at the bar. Don't remember her name but very impressed

Reception staff were lovely. Room 317 was a bit tired looking but not bad for the money we paid. Bathroom was clean and spacious. It was Saturday night and we were asked to leave the brasserie at 10.50pm as it was closed which was disappointing as it was a lovely relaxing area.
