This was probably a one off BUT: We got to the hotel at 4:30 (half hour after check in), and weren’t given our room key until 10:30 at night. The front desk staff sort of let us know that there was a problem with getting all the sheets cleaned and put on the beds. And it did seem like a hectic time for everyone. However, when trying to check in at 4:30, I was told that ‘the rooms are clean, we just need to put on the linens’ which made it sound like it would take an hour or so. The front desk staff seemed very uninformed about what was going on. More communication to the front desk (and then from the front desk to us) would have been appreciated. After asking (and 5 hours of waiting), we did receive a $30 coupon to use (to share between two people) at the restaurants in the hotel. However, it felt like this should have been offered (and offered earlier) instead of something I had to ask for. Because no one was getting rooms, the lobby was full and there was no where to sit. We were bond tired from driving most of the morning

This is the second stage during one week at this property and things just got worse. Check-in was delayed by over six hours and really this is not my problem. This is your problem. We were told that we would be checked into the new part of the building, but when we returned, we were sent to the old part of the building with very many problems with our room. What do I need to pay the full fee when the room sucked? If you guys cannot do renovations while remaining open, I suggest you close it till you’re done.

When we arrived they were behind on getting the room ready, apparently a laundry machine broke. When we did end up checking in, we decided to use the pool. It was dirty, and I had sand in my feel from the deteriorating grout. When we returned to our room, the facet was broken and we couldn't turn off the shower. There were no other rooms available. At that time and we were already well past my 7 year olds bedtime by the time this was all through, so we decided to go to another hotel. The front desk staff and management were lovely and friendly, but the place was so run down that it made for a rough night. I appreciate that they offered a different room, but it wasnt ready and we would have been waiting another hour or two. Really too bad as my previous experience there was good.

There was nothing to like about this hotel. Who puts hotel rooms in the basement??? We couldn’t even use the luggage trolly to our room because of weird stair access. It was dingy, the view to the pool area was unpleasant so we left the gross old curtains closed. We didn’t dare walk without shoes. A bath was out of the question with rust visible on the plug and pink bacteria around the edges of the tub. We only stayed out of desperation. Don’t book here!
