We booked a room for the overnight stay when travelling from Spokane to attend a concert in Kelowna. We got stuck at the border. We had passport, vaccination cards, and a smile. We did not know about the CanApp form online and the medically-supervised Covid test that are required for crossing the border. The hotel could have something on its website about this requirement!

Hi Mark, As a traveler myself, I would think it should be my personal responsibility to ensure entry requirements into any country, I travel to. It should not be a hotel's responsibility to publish entry requirements for the country, on our website, rather than how we are specifically responding to the COVID-19 pandemic. I would also point out that your reservation was made through Expedia, not directly with the hotel. As such, should Expedia be responsible to outline entry regulations, to their customers? Either way, it's unfortunate that you had to cancel your trip at the very last minute & I appreciate your disappointment. I think our hotel was very compassionate & understanding of your situation & cancelled your reservation without processing last minute cancellation penalties. We did the good & what I felt was the right thing, under the circumstances. I really do not believe we deserve a 2 star review, in this situation & feel it's highly unfair. I like the downtown location & the discount at the nearby pub. The bIt & switch on our room booking. We booked & paid for a king executive suite with a private balcony & view of the lake. We were given a room with 2 queen beds, a common balcony & a view of a gravel roof & vack alley. Parking is not easily accessible in anything larger than a small car.
