Mike was an absolutely great and attentive host. My volcano tour had been cancelled and he made sure I had information that allowed me to see the sights regardless. The room was immaculate and the continental breakfast of fresh papaya halves and sweetbread was perfection to wake to. I will return.

A Magical Place

Pros: Everything.
If you get a chance to stay in the Volcano area this is the place to stay. It is a beautiful hidden treasure. Michael the manager is warm and welcoming and very helpful with advice on the area. The lodging is beautiful and well cared for. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Great cabin like experience

Like the idea of camping but not the lack of electricity and running water? These cottages are so cute and are isolated but really close to the volcano the area is easy to navigate and it stays relatively cool here but be advised there is no AC and although occasionally humid the nights offer relief but there are also no screens so the open windows do allow some bugs to get in but there are really not many bugs there so it works out. No Mosquitos or biting flies etc but we were surprised coming from TN we are used to central Air and screens but that area of Hawaii really doesn't require it. Had a wonderful stay the owner was nice and the assortment of breakfast items provided my husband and I with enough to eat and have a snack from. A very authentic experience
