When you have no other choices...

My room was a Non-smoking - King Size bed. The first thing that hit me was the scent of wiped urine. This smelled familiar from visiting a convalescent home years ago. I called the front desk and asked if pets were allowed in this room from the last visit due to the smell. I was on the second floor and was advised pets are usually placed on the first floor. Didn't answer my question but they "did not have any record of a pet in the room". They offered to spray air freshener? I went out and bought my own freshener which I had to consistently re-spray. The floors were clearly not mopped in this room with spots of mud, women's hair in areas and spots in general. The general up keep is lacking. Signs of constant maintenance were everywhere (unpainted patches of drywall; paint on the bed frame; tv box falling apart; fridge was wiped with same towel that was used to wipe down the room?). I was guarded the entire stay and not comfortable. I even debated just driving the hours home and taking a loss on the room. I survived to tell my tale but will not be revisiting this hotel and I do not agree with the 3.4 stars it has. PS: the room is decorAted with a try on modern but is more simplistically odd than anything else. Good luck in your travels.

Dirty, Soiled Linen, Cockroaches, Black Widow....

Through work and pleasure trips I've stayed in about 200 hotels/motels nationally and internationally and this one was in the absolute worst condition. On-site manager was efficient, kind, respectful, and tried to accommodate us. First room had about five dead cockroaches in a corner underneath a countertop which were never swept away. We also found three live cockroaches. Manager let us move to another room which had a black widow spider hanging off the outside of the air conditioner/heater and had soiled bedspreads. Besides being generally soiled, they had white crusty stuff that look like the frosting on a glazed donut (though probably not from a donut). Both rooms had dirty laminate flooring which is not been thoroughly cleaned in a while. And one room had missing laminate or somebody dropped water on the floor and they boarded over the damage. Also the security door latch was broken on the second room so that the deadbolt was the only thing locking the room. Large no smoking signs were posted next to every door on the hotel. (First time I've ever seen anything like this.) After reading other recent reviews, I checked out of the hotel into another hotel and ate the cost. I did not feel safe leaving my daughter and granddaughter in that room.

Awful hotel

After reading the reviews, I figured this hotel couldn't be that bad. People were commenting on it being newly remodeled, etc. These reviews are not accurate & the pictures do not show what the nasty rooms truly look like! The floors were dirty, paint was chipping everywhere, the tub needs to be resurfaced, there were pubic hairs on the back of the toilet, & I found a clump of hair in the "clean" towels. The nightstand was screwed crooked into the wall. The phone rang all night long 1-2 times & then would hang up waking my 2 yr old up. The people above us sounded like they were coming through the floor & they kept us up most of the night. The free wifi didn't work & we were told "oh it doesn't work in that building". The staff was rude & we would have switched hotels if it wasn't such a big hassle. We arrived later than we had hoped due to traffic & had a full day at legoland planned. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!

Convenient location, helpful staff

Pros: The staff was friendly, helpful and efficient.
Cons: Minor repairs needed in the bathroom fixtures.
Location: Easy access to freeway, metro areas with good selection of restaurants, and within driving distance to major San Diego area attractions.
We only stayed for one night at the end of a Memorial Day weekend. The location is convenient to freeway access, nearby restaurants and local attractions.

Jim from Idaho

Pros: Location
Cons: Better desk/table setup and more comfortable chairs.
Clean, big room but nowhere to sit except hard wood chairs that were not comfortable. Small table bolted to the wall.

Better than I had expected

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
After reading some of the horrid reviews on this hotel, I was skeptical to book it. However, the price was alluring and I booked four nights here anyway. I can honestly say that these reviews give no justice to this hotel at all. Check in was easy, the staff was friendly, and when we got to our room the cleaning lady offered more towels right away. The floors are wood, or a wood substitute like tile, but nevertheless, very nice. The room was clean, the bathroom was nice, always hot water, and the bed was comfortable. No stains on the mattress either. The area is nice, it's literally right off of the highway, so it was easy to get to, as well as easy to get to every where else. Not a lot of traffic, always quiet, people staying there were also nice. There were some not so attractive guests that reminded me of lower quality of life folk, but no one bothered me. I'm a young female, so traveling by myself I always have worries, but this place was welcoming and I felt safe. I already booked my next stay here. Make sure you get the log in for the internet first though.

Will stay again!

This hotel was a surprising gem for me as I was able to stay near my parents for a very reasonable price. The pool was a nice bonus too. Only think I didn't like was the styrofoam breakfast.

Wouldn't stay again

Old hotel. Shower head was eye level for my 5'6 frame. Had to crouch to shampoo my hair. Reserved a king bed, received two double beds. Stayed two nights and received no sleep. It's loud at all hours of the night. I kept looking out the window to ensure my car was okay. Spend a few extra dollars and stay somewhere safe and nice.
