Those who want to travel to Chugoku will learn there's only 1 room option within an easy driving distance of Tsunoshima Island's downtown, so you should consider booking somewhere to sleep as soon as you can.
The Hotel Nishi-Nagato Resort is the closest hotel to downtown Tsunoshima Island and it is merely a short drive away.
The broader Chugoku region is well worth seeing too. Admire Chugoku's beaches, coastal plains, mountains and rolling hills. You should also venture to some of the area's ruins, castles and old towns. Wise visitors in this section of Japan often enjoy snowboarding.
Yamaguchi is 40 miles (61 kilometers) to the southeast of Tsunoshima Island and is where you'll find Yamaguchi Prefectural Museum of Art and Yamaguchi University. When you want to get to Yamaguchi, check out the rooms at the Hotel Nishi-no-Miyabi Tokiwa and Yu No Yado Aji No Yado Umenoya. Or, you could stay in Hofu, 45 miles (74 kilometers) to the southeast of Tsunoshima Island, where you can pick from the Hotel Route-Inn Hofu Ekimae and APA Hotel Yamaguchi-Hofu. If you come to Hofu, make sure you explore the Mori Museum and Garden and Takagawa Shinyamaguchi Country Club.
If enjoying sport is on your Tsunoshima Island bucket list, head to Fukuoka Yafuoku Dome, which is located 60 miles (97 kilometers) to the southwest of Tsunoshima Island. Book a hotel right in the thick of the sporting action at the Hotel Marinoa Resort Fukuoka or the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk.
