Our favorite hotel

We love Gosby House!! So very welcoming from the beautiful Victorian design and remodeled rooms to the wonderful staff with whom we have become friends, and the delectable hot breakfasts every morning! And in the sleepy town of Pacific Grove, so very relaxing! Perfect place for a composition retreat! And just blocks from the waterfront with crashing waves and sea life!!

The Gosby House is tranquil place of rest, affording a peaceful stay for travelers. The rooms maintain an historic feel while committing to modern conveniences. It is perfectly located within Pacific Grove being close to the scenic bay, many excellent restaurants, a movie theater, an abundance of coffee houses and within a healthy walk’s distance to Monterey Bay Aquarium. We have stayed at the Gosby House on four occasions and we plan to go back. The only slight inconvenience with staying at the Gosby House is their lack of effort offering gluten, dairy, soy free options to guests with stated sensitivities. We have found, it is better to stay at the Gosby House and forego the last second attempts offered by staff to meet our previously stated food requirements. In so doing, we find our morning meal in the community. There are several sensational breakfast options within the immediate neighborhood.

Liked the fireplace in our room. Also thought they did a good job with breakfast, fresh egg dishes and a different pastry each day. First day was a blueberry cornmeal coffeed cake and we got fresh biscuits too on our last day. Place was centrally located so just a few minutes to Monterey and about 15 min. to Carmel. The staff were all very nice and helpful.

From honeymoon to anniversary

My husband and I revisted the Gosby House Inn 40 years after spending time here on our honeymoon. I rememered it being very charming and romantic. The inn is even better than I remember! So charming and relaxing. Amazing service. The surrounding area is very walkable and friendly. We greatly enjoyed our visit.
