The staff are what make this a luxury hotel

I stay in a lot of hotels for work and there are many luxury hotels. But often the service does not match the price. This is absolutely not the case with the W. The hotel is stunning and the service is exceptional. The staff go above and beyond. Every single person we encountered was fantastic. Would happily stay again. Planning our just visit.

Stayed for one night. Easy check in and check out. Room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The bathroom is large all with shower and with a large bath. Love the bath! Didn't have the chance to use the pool maybe for next time. Perfect location in Darling Harbour with Restaurants, cafes and entertainment nearby. Perfect for walking or running to the Opera House.

From the moment we checked in, until the day we left was an exceptional experience. From the friendly staff, especially Sophie at breakfast, and throughout the Hotel, to the very generous complimentary cocktails and mini bar discount. Stunning brand new hotel situated in a great location. Rooms are tastefully and well appointed. Unfortunatley the breakfast service and system in general was a shambles. You have to line up two times, once to get a ticket, second to reach the front of the "entry" line where you present your ticket (approx 20-30min wait). Orders were not coming, for anyone, and if they did they were the wrong order. Lots of customers were very annoyed. Waited 1hr for an omlette I ordered twice and it never came, ended up just leaving. They need to really improve the service to match the expectation of a 5 star hotel.

Services NOT worth the PRICE

We've stayed in this hotel for eight nights in two rooms, overall the in-room facilities are quite OK, however, the design of the bathroom is very inconvenient to guests. They said "separate shower" but in fact the shower heads are located right in the bathroom without any separation, therefore when you having a shower almost the whole bathroom would get wet. House keeping is another failure, every day there would be something they forgot to refill/replace either towel, bath robe, coffee or tea would be lacking. Not a single day during our stay (except the day when we check-in) something always not there. Both of our rooms have one day that they forgot housekeeping, we have to request one when we came back to see the room had not been made. This is not we expect when we paid the price for these rooms. Last but not least, the delay of releasing the holding deposits are totally unreasonable. It has been almost a week since we check-out and they still holding the amount on my credit card in pending status. All in all, I would avoid this hotel in my/our future trips. In this price range, there are many better choices.
