"It was a mixed bag. Fiji has a natural tranquil beauty on its own and the hotel helped to showcase some of that. It’s a beautiful, walkable hotel. On arrival we were enthusiastically greeted and presented with welcome beads/necklaces. Booked a garden room with 2 double beds. The room was spacious. The beds took some getting used to as they were quite firm. Mosquitoes were a bit of an issue- the hotel provided some repellent but I advise visitors to have some more on hand. The room amenities were okay. The hotel had activities you could participate in and the pools were all nice. The spa service was very good- a highlight of the trip.
The staff were hit or miss. Some were excellent and some unfortunately were not. Sadly, being greeted constantly with a cheerful “bula” can’t make up for poor service. The food was also the luck of the draw. A pity because we had high hopes for delicious curries and seafood. However the breakfast at Navo was good.
It would have been an excellent trip but for some inconsistencies.
