"Great location, pristine grounds and room"
We really enjoyed the short walk to the square, the yoga classes and the fireplace. Can't wait to visit again in the summer to enjoy the newly redone pool.

"Thanksgiving "
For a Fairmont the staff and service were wonderful. Must admit that Thanksgiving Buffet was WAY over priced, We did not check the cost until we got our check. Two dinners and a bottle of champagne and it was $400. Just a tad much for two vegetarians but that will teach us next time. Accomodations are nice, hotel could use some upgrades, but overall we really enoyed our stay. They gave us a complimentary upgrade to the Harvest Suite, which was and odd room but huge and the fireplace made it quite cozy. We were treated with respect and familiarity and that is what you would expect from a Fairmont.

"Recently renovated rooms...a surprise"
Room appeared recently renovated. Everything updated and fresh decor and fixtures throughout. Looked like an old style hotel (architecture, not poor exterior finishes), so didn't know what to expect. Nicely surprised. Even had an Illy Espresso machine in each room. Comfortable bed (although it makes me crazy when every hotel thinks a down comforter is necessary...even when it is 100 degrees outside).

This hotel is located just a little way from the busy area of Calistoga. It has a number of resort amenities, such as three pools. The king suites are very roomy and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again. It is a good value.

"Nice Individual Units with Stellar Restaurant!"
This was our first time staying this deep into wine country and Calistoga. We tend to go to Yountville or St. Helena for our Labor Day weekend over the last 20 years. Our trips needs were a swimming pool, good food and bringing the dog with us (Small). Arrived Friday and after the bustle of traffic up 29 - had reservations at the Sol Bar restaurant at the Hotel. We arrived to a nice tucked away place in the flats of the vineyards just off the Silverado Trail. A guy greeted us curbside and offered to check us in while we waited in the car. Then, we followed him to our unit on his bike. Black Beach Cruisers come with your room~great to pop over to Calistoga. Our unit was clean and new, iPad for info about hotel & spa & in room dining. Font patio with couches to chill, large shower, no tub, tall ceilings, tall closet with shelves but no drawers. Dinner & Breakfast were incredible, very impressive! Not all hotels can deliver this! (My husband & I thought of all the places we've been)...and it IS pretty rare. I heard Michelin rated, did not check, so not sure. People everywhere were incredibly nice and friendly. Going to Wine tasting the first night I was spoken to sternly by the pool guy about having a dog. Had to rush my tasting as he made 1-time exception. The next day, headed to the big pool, as in the pictures-pool guy stopped us "no kids", the iPad in our room said 12 years & older. NO MENTION of this at booking. Vacation felt tense, kids uneasy. Mixed emotions about stay.
