Fosshotel Glacier Lagoon
"Fantastic property! Modern, yet sustainable and fitting the environment. The room and bathroom were spacious, bed incredibly comfortable. The restaurant on site was delicious and the staff incredibly attentive. Excellent spa amenities too. The included breakfast and Hotels VIP perk were appreciated. Only gripe I have is that the hotel is called Glacier Lagoon, yet it is a :30 drive away from the glacier lagoon. The setting is not at all indicative of the stunning lagoon."

"Hotel Skaftafell was a good stay for us mainly because of the location. It was the most convenient choice for being near our glacier hike the next morning, and it was also easy to drive back to after our Zodiac boat tour at Glacier Lagoon. For that part of the trip, the location was perfect. The included breakfast was really good and had a nice variety. We also had dinner at the attached restaurant the night before. It was pricey, but the food was delicious. The kids’ menu was not great, but the staff were very kind and let us come in to eat even though we arrived only about five minutes before the end of seating. The room itself was small, and the beds were just okay. There was nothing especially memorable about the room, but it worked fine for a short stay. There is also a gas station with a really good grill fairly close by, which was convenient. Overall, this hotel was a practical and helpful stop because of the location, breakfast, restaurant, and easy access to the glacier activities we had planned."
