"A comfortable stay in a clean, basic room. I was dropping my kid off at Durham, and needed an affordable, nearby place. This came up on an Expedia search. About 30min away from her college, and we took the opportunity to drive 5 min down to Horden Beach for a walk, which is lovely. We checked in at the bar, which was busy. They were not serving food, but encouraged us to get takeaway (there's a Chinese chippy next door) and provided us plates and cutlery. Their drinks are inexpensive. The room (a twin) was very clean and well appointed, if not luxurious. The room we had was not large, but perfect for what we needed. We were given and completed the breakfast order menu the night before, and in the morning we were duly given our breakfast as ordered: this was nicely done (I had a full English), and lots of toast, jam, coffee, cereals, etc, there for your use. Overall, we were very happy with our stay. Just what we needed. Simple, unfussy, comfortable."
