It is a basic, barebones motel. The staff does their best to keep the place tidy but the facility is old and it shows. They did a great job cleaning our room everyday. We had newer furniture in the room but the mattress may have been older then the furniture. It is next to a water drainage area that is loaded with homeless people at night. We weren't bothered by them but this may be a problem for others. Polly's restaurant is next door. Best for breakfast, but reasonably priced if you are budget minded and the pies are good if you just want dessert.

Sketchy

The sheets/duvet had holes in them (looked like cigarette holes). There was no hot water but thankfully we were only there for one night. We opened the window for some air and the screen wasn’t quite on the window complete, which made me question the possible security of the room since the window backs into the parking lot. This was an affordable choice but I can safely say spend an extra $20 to stay somewhere else maybe more secure/clean. the staff at the front desk were perfectly nice though, so the review is a reflection of the hotel itself and not the staff.

An excellent value!

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet, affordable
My daughter, granddaughter(age 3) and I stayed here for 2 nights. We were in town(from out of state) for a funeral and needed a place to stay. We arrived late, but the room was ready for us AND clean. The maid service was a tad late the next day (around 3pm), but I forgot to leave the sign out on the door(clean room), so I might be partly to blame. The beds were comfortable and the water was hot all weekend(I had read a previous review that stated the water in the room was not hot). The room had a fridge and a microwave. They also provided free internet access(something that I wouldn't have cared about a few years ago, but is important to me now#. I liked that the door to the room was through an inside hall. The jacuzzi was not as hot as I would have liked, but clean and spacious. The staff was pleasant as well. My biggest complaint#and it's very minor# was that the room only had one #very small# trash can and no access to an outside dumpster#I had to dump my trash at the restaurant dumpster next door#. I would highly recommend family and friends to stay here. The Red Roof Inn is an exceptional value for the money! P.S. And for those that are doing the driving, the Red Roof Inn is close to 3 major freeways and has a lot of parking#and the parking lots are well lit at night-my daughter wanted me to comment on these things).

No Hot Water for 2 days. Bad House Cleaning

For the first two days we were there, there was no hot water in the morning. Yes, they gave us a discount, but it was a bad experience and it should have been fixed the first day. \n\nThe smoking rooms they have are overpowering with smoke odor even to us smokers. \n\nAlso the House Cleaning staff should be reconsidered. They did not clean out ashtrays and did not sweep or mop the bathroom floor. The way we know this is, we accidently dropped and broke an ashtray in the bathroom and the ashes were there for the whole week we was there, not to mention the couple of glass slivers that I picked up the last day we stayed there. The house cleaning staff was late in cleaning (4pm) before they did our room as we were trying to get ready for a wedding, along with not leaving us hand towels on that day.\n\nWe also was woken up at 2am by the fire alarms (false alarm) and we couldnt get back to sleep for hours after that. No compensation for that even after complaining.\n\nIf you want a hotel that is memorable and will be talked about for weeks after your trip, this is the place. This is an embarassment for the name Red Roof Inn.
