This charming property is family owned, quaint, clean. The owners take great care of this hotel and it's guests. Sundown Inn's location is convenient to many restaurants, bars, and shops. It is also close to the bay, ocean, and local beaches. I would highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Morro Bay.

Cutest little motel. Dated but in a cute way. SUPER clean (coming from someone who gets grossed out easily at hotels). The linens smelled fresh and there was no dust. We are sensitive to pet dander and dust so I always worry but we had zero issues. The bed had an old-fashioned “magic fingers” vibration mechanism that our 7yo got a kick out of. The place was quiet and charming and super close to everything. We didn’t use our car once to walk around downtown. We will definitely stay here again.

Old California Home Feeling

I had a lovely, relaxing stay at the Sundown Inn. The owners were so welcoming and attentive to needs. I immediately felt safe and at home. I would definitely stay there again.

Sundown Inn actually has Magic Fingers Vibrating Bed. Invented in 1958 by John Houghtaling which was a1960s stable in hotels/motels. 15 minutes for a quarter. Nice Touch!

It was a great little place to have one to two nights at a clean, quant, comfortable vacation :) my boyfriend and I stayed there for one night and it was perfect! It’s single level, so on one above us, which was very nice! Staff was very nice and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!!

Quaint no-frills motel- owned by the same kind family for 42 years. It’s obvious that they take meticulous care of this place- and so very nice! Great location walking distance to everything - Scout coffee a 4 minute walk, which is awesome. Our room still has the “magic fingers” bed massage for a quarter- a fun throwback, and a for-show only push button phone- but a nice tv that can connect to your favorite streaming service. Ice cold air and a heater that we didn’t need to use. My only suggestion, bring your own soap and shampoo. If you need a nice little motel within easy walking distance to the bayfront as well S local shops- give this place a look!
