The Embassy Suites Dorado can do a lot better. The lobby and surrounding area are nice. The rooms, however, need major renovations. The rooms are outdated, from the carpets to the sofa, which need replacement. We found a small roach in our room, the door locks to the bathroom did not work, and the vents were all dusty. They were nice enough to move us to a similar room in the floor above us. Service was ok. The addition of happy hour and weekend music is nice. The pool area is nice but needs to be cleaned more often, since at times the water looked muddied and had a lot of twigs, mulch, hair, etc. The beach unfortunately had an algae invasion that kept us from visiting it.

The hotel was nice - a little run down but was good for what it was. It's not near anything so you have to take expensive Ubers/ taxis everywhere. Highly recommend renting a car if you stay here. The service was not great. We weren't called to check in despite giving our phone number twice. One day the electricity went out for 3 hours - no generator, meaning we couldn't wash our hands, use the toilets - our food in the fridge nearly spoiled. We weren't given any kind of acknowledgement or apology at all. Only a piece of paper in our room saying they wouldn't vaccuum due to the power outage. Our room was only cleaned a few times when we were there and we had to ask. Otherwise it was cleaned around 5:30pm when we were already back and looking forward to clean towels and clean room, which there wasn't. Also, the room says it sleeps 4, but the pull out couch only fits one person and they don't supply extra cots so my daughter had to sleep in the king bed with us. Breakfast was OK. All in all it was fine but I won't be returning next time I'm in PR!

Great hotel, excellent view. Ordered meals (not tapas) at spanish restaurant, late Friday , after tour if island, and it took well over an hour for food to be served. Hotel room was comfy, but had no personality. Really enjoyed the happy hour at the hotel. Would have liked to see more breakfast options. Overall, a nice, out of the way to stay with a very nice lobby, pool, staff, and beach access.

This property is not well maintained. The bathroom ceiling and throughout the room had MOLD spores that appeared to have been covered with paint. The mold spores were penetrating in several areas and the air vents looked containment too. The light fixtures as well as the door frame was severely rusted. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and had brown markings. The chairs and throw pillows were obviously soiled in multiple areas. Front desk would not change our room, since all the rooms were comparable and renovations are not scheduled for two more years. The breakfast was not accommodating. My daughter has dairy and nut allergies and they refused to scramble her eggs without dairy. The next morning she tried to get eggs again they told her to get to the back of the line, so other guests could be helped. We were there for 8 days and developed sinus issues from the mold and could not take advantage of the breakfast. Expedia reached out to the property upon check in, so we could checkout early, however the property did not respond for days and refused to refund us. This is not what I expect from Hilton Properties. I emailed Hilton directly and it has been six days with no response. I took pictures and videos as well. This property is not safe from a health perspective.
