So I loved the staff. They were great! However that couldn’t make up for the following: - the bed slumped in the middle - the bedding skirt or dust ruffle was EXTREMELY soiled - no heating control in room - bathroom blinds didn’t cover full window, so every time I went to the bathroom I was exposed to the street - windows did not protect you from the chill of the elements - glass shower door was hard to slide - lack of water pressure - peeling wallpaper that was painted over - no coffee pot in room - no black out curtains - terribly dusty - water leaking from sink - plugs were not covered - food sources were blocks away - could hear all of the traffic and crazy pedestrians

For my work I always stay one or two nights during the week in SF and I have been in many hotels of different categories but this one does not have category at all. I do not understand how Travelocity and other hotel sites can offer this hotel, the lack of maintenance and cleanliness is incredible, it seems that they clean it once a month. I thought twice about sleeping in bed, thank God that when I travel I always bring a pair of sandals to walk inside the room and the shower. I can not believe it!!

The place has not been updated since 1984, worse though is that it hasn’t had a deep and thorough cleaning for years. There was mold in the shower, stains and dirt on the carpets, our room was missing the smoke detector. Very disappointing.😡☹️

Of all my experiences booking hotels with Travelocity, this was by far my worst experience ever. The website was very misleading as to the condition of the hotel itself. The room was very dated and in extreme need of upgrading. There was no A/C, only an old wood framed window and a desk fan for any type of circulation. The only window opened into a courtyard that looked directly into adjoining rooms next door or across the courtyard. On two occasions, pigeons landed on the window sill and attempted to gain entry. The only thing that kept them from entering was the old, dirty horizontal blinds. The room and hallways smelled old and musty. The bathroom and sink area were not completely clean. The carpet was old and had a patch in one section. The "continental breakfast" consisted of bread to toast with butter and jam, bananas, yogurt, milk, orange juice, and coffee, that's it. There was no parking available at the hotel so customers must make their own arrangements. When I booked the room for $117 ($138 w/taxes and fees) I felt I was getting a great deal, however even at this price I feel I was ripped off. What's even more disturbing is the fact that this site is charging $270 a night later this month. I can't imagine spending that much money for such an awful experience. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone I cared for.

Disappointing

Cons: Total remodel and update; and parking availability.
Location: It's the Marina area.
There is NO on-site parking! In that area that is a MUST HAVE...unless you have excellent parking karma. The staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was ok. The room was clean, but the entire Inn is DESPERATELY in need of an overhaul! The carpeting is disgustingly filthy, the stuffed chairs in the "public" area are dirty and have the stuffing coming out, room noise from other rooms is more wanted, and if you go, be sure to ask for a room at the back. The noise from Lombard Street can be horrific. It is "near" some restaurants and night life, but even 4 blocks can be very LONG blocks at night. It does look attractive from the street, but like the book cover, the book may not be a good one.
