Good place to stay!

Wonderful! We did ask to move to an upper floor, so we could get more sun into our room. We would have liked coffee in our room every morning but they only provide it the first morning and we were there for a week. We will stay there again.

Hotel is in a good location. Not too far from the walking streets (Andadores) Nice hotel, water took 10 minutes to warm up after that it was very hot. However, water ran out very quickly. Room did not have enough toiletries and we had to request extra towels. No wifi in the room, you had to go to the main lobby to have access to the wifi. A computer was there for guest to use, but if you needed to print your boarding pass, you had to pay for each copy. If you only need a place to sleep, this hotel is good for that.

Nice clean hotel w/restaurant

Nice hotel with large rooms off a central garden with an in-house restaurant with reasonable prices. The WiFi does not extend to all the rooms, so be sure to check before you unpack, if that matters to you.

Coffee machine but no coffee, Noise through the night with people arguing, could not use hair dryer without blackout, beds extremely hard, no air con or heating, poor water supply, no water at 7.30am to have shower. Toilet keeps running when flushed, curtains stink of dust!!!,

I certainly recommend this hotel as it is close to everything: central square, walking street. The room was as on photo, very clean and fully equipped. Hotel has very good design. Unfortunately wi-fi not working in my room 250.

Overbooked, no room for me even it was prepaid!

I booked and PAID for the room 3 months before my stay. When I came I was told they were overbooked and will put me to a different hotel. It was a very unpleasant surprise. They showed me 3 hotels to choose from, but all of them of much worse quality (if something like that happens, you should put the guesst into a better hotel not a worse one)! I left my phone number and email on the reservation, so why didn´t anyone let me know in advance that they don´t have my room??? Expedia or the hotel should have let me know.

Great experience!

it was truly a pleasure to stay at this hotel. The staff was great!! From Humberto, Marilu and Viviana in the front desk to Manolo the bell boy, cook and everything else you need from him, he would do it all.lol. Make sure to meet Manolo on your next visit, he is funny and great! Overall a great experience and the price is great. Close to everything, downtown, shopping and restaurants.

Our stay at this hotel was great

We would have liked another chair in the room. Otherwise it was a nearly perfect stay. It was quiet and friendly. For us it was close enough to all the activities that we were involved in. I would definitely stay there again!!!

Axkan Arte is a well located and nice hotel. It's simple but meets most needs. It's a 5 minute walk to the centre of San Cristobal and just 2 blocks from the central buss station.

Nice hotel next to city center

Very nice hotel next to city center. Quite, clean with flat screen tv and wifi. Loading and unloading is difficult if you are driving. There is no heat in the room which gets very cool at night. They do provide heavy warm blankets.

A clean, new hotel

We were given an early check-in, which was much appreciated after getting off a night bus. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the ADO bus station, and everywhere in town is accessible on foot, which is luck as the narrow streets reduce traffic to a crawl. The hotel is new and clean, but somehow lacking in character. The rooms include a safe, big flat-screen TV, good shower and coffee machine (but no coffee!). Unfortunately the manager made rather a faux-pas by bursting into our (locked) room to find me stark naked. Perhaps in the absence of secondary inside locks, knocking first should be more of a priority. The food at the restaurant was, by turns, disappointing and surprisingly good, but the breakfast menu could perhaps be re-designed so as to make more sense to the staff, who were left floundering a little when trying to work out what to serve and at what cost.

The lady from the lobby could not help me solve my problem, she couldnt even lend me the phone so I can communicate with you. I used my cell phone to call you and they let me an hour waiting and did not solve my problem.

Great, but has Hidden Costs

The hotel itself is great--a quiet little boutique hotel. However be aware that it costs 1000 pesos a night. Even if you pay a particular rate on hotels.com you will pay the difference when you check in. We paid 53 USD per night and then had to pay an additional fees. So for 3 mights it was almost $350 USD. If you are on a budget then be aware. You are not getting a deal on hotels.com, you are just putting down a deposit on a much more expensive hotel.

Great place in San Cristóbal de las casas.

The location is perfect in order to visit all downtown. The place is quiet, the staff very polite & friendly, the room was very clean, rustic and every day the towels were a piece of art. At the restaurant I met Sergio, the owner (who told me that the bank and him were the owners -great sens of humor-), and he invited me to join his team who was setting a new promotional Internet video. I had a great time. I'm sure that if I return to San Cristóbal it will be there.

Clean room, fantastic service but is cold.

We liked the service, food, location, cleanliness and the hot water of our room. The only concern was, the rooms don't have heaters, I never imagined that I will need one in the middle of June, but the room was cold and humid for the raining season. I just asked for a extra blanket. Just having this in mind I will recommend this hotel.
