This was my second year running to this hotel as I enjoyed it so much the first time round. The hotel is beautiful and the location is perfect.
We had two executive double rooms which were very nice. The only slight annoyance was that there were quite a few small ants coming in through cracks in the tiles on the floor. This obviously can’t be helped as ants will find a way in if they want to, but not ideal when they’re climbing onto the bed.
Aside from this the breakfast staff, and concierge were very polite and accommodating. Matteo on the front desk was also very polite, as were the staff when we checked in.
We did have an issue when checking out. The room key comes attached to a large tassel which is heavy, we removed this and left it on the bedside table.
After the cleaner had cleaned the room, the tassel had gone. We didn’t think much about it as assumed it had been given into the front desk.
Upon checkout we were told that if the cleaner had found it she would have returned it to reception and that we must have lost it, which was not the case! She told us to double check the room twice, which we did. We had to argue the point that it was taken from the room. the lady at the front desk would not accept this and kept suggesting we had lost it, and that we would need to pay a €80 fee. After arguing our point, the reception staff agreed to wave the cost. This definitely let down the overall stay as we left feeling quite annoyed and let down. The fact was it was taken.
