Nice Hotel, but very Noisy

Pros: Staff
Cons: It was very noisy and we could not get a good night sleep. Maybe the hotel could replace/upgrade the windows to better soundproof windows.
Location: Decent location.
The staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean. Breakfast was decent but not great. However, it is nearly impossible to sleep as we heard loud sounds in the street all night and every night even though we were in one of the higher floors in the hotel. I would not stay here again.

Great Modern Hotel

Pros: Rooms, breakfast buffet, free internet, lobby, location.
Location: Close to Termini train/metro station and most historic sights. The nearby restaurants were great.
This hotel was very modern, nicely styled, clean with good size rooms and bathrooms. It was very comparable to a 4 star US hotel. The location is great as you are able to walk to most of the historic sights and the train/metro station is close by. There are many charming restaurants in the immediate area of the hotel. We were extremely happy with our 8 night stay and would not hesitate to return to this hotel.

Beautiful hotel centrally located to Termini

Pros: The friendly staff were always professional and went out of their way to help us. They spoke English well😃
Cons: Bring your own washcloth. The wash cloth that they provided was as big as a hand towel. The shower door needs to be bigger.
Location: Termini train station was so close. You could take the train, metro, bus, or taxi to get to your destination.
We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay during our 10-day vacation in Rome! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was outstanding! You can get to anywhere in the city from the hotel. The hotel was clean and well kept.

Pros: Close to the main train station
We were greeted, and sent on our way, there was no one to help w/our carry-on. The carpet is smudged w/dirt in the hallways and it continued on to the rooms. For some reason the double beds are 2 twin sized bed placed together. the Shower glass doors for some reason is a 1/4 of the length it should be ... but overall a nice stay, but then again, we only stayed 1 night.

Rome for the weekend

Pros: Almost everything
Cons: The only thing that was a little problem is the doors are very secure and the slam when they close on there own. It was loud during the day.
Great hotel, good breakfast, close to train station, about 15 minute walk to Coliseum. Staff was great.

Starhotels Metropolis

Cons: The only thing that I suggest is that the housekeeping staff knock prior to entering the room.
Location: The hotel is located near the Colosseum, Spanish Steps, Termini station.
I must say that even though I experience a couple of hiccups during my stay here, overall I was pleased. The first issue was that someone at the hotel tried to process my credit card for the full amount of the room 3 times while I was on the plane headed to Rome. When I got off of the plane and tried to use my card it had been frozen. This would have been a quick fix as easy as a phone call had it not been a holiday weekend so I was unable to use my card during my whole stay (bummer) as I planned to use this card for shopping and gifts for others. The second issue was that the housekeeper every morning just walked into my room using her key without knocking. This was annoying as it was usually between 8-8:30 am. Now, to the good part of my stay. The hotel is located in a very good location. A quick train ride on the Leonardo Express to the Termini station and I was 2 blocks from the hotel. If you are not sure which way to go, there is a tourist station right in the station where you will find English speaking help. During my stay I used the bus and train systems which are both located at the Termini station as well and they were both very easy to use. The room was spacious and comfortable. A cool feature worth noting is that you use your room key when you enter the room to set the lights and air back to your settings before you left. The hotel was within walking distance of the Colosseum and Spanish Steps.

Good value

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Quiet
Cons: No free Internet, Poor breakfast
This hotel was a great value for my new husband and me on our honeymoon to Italy. It was up-to-date, clean, and and comfortable (especially for Europe). For example, they were the only hotel on our trip that had an ice machine on our floor. We had no problems walking everywhere from this hotel, but we are both young citydweller that are used to walking a lot. The main subway stop is just two blocks away and most tourist sites are very convenient to it. Actually, we found the neighborhood really conveinant. We found ended up using several restaurants, gelateria, tabacchis, souvenier shops, and ATMs all within a block or so of the hotel. Finally, the hotel let us check in extremely early (at 8 am), which was so great after a red eye flight the day after our wedding. In terms of criticisms, the breakfast isn't great and got old by the end of the five days that we stayed. Also, we booked one tour with Appian Line Tours on the concierge's recommendation, and the tour was AWFUL. We booked other tours through a company called Dark Rome, and they were so vastly superior to Appian Line Tours I can't even begin to express it. Its not really the hotel's fault, but you would think they would be more careful with their recommendations. Finally, the free wifi only in the lobby thing was a bit annoying, but really if you are on vacation how much computer access do you really want?
