Very far from Rome.

If you want to explore Rome, I wouldn't recommend the hotel. However, people in the hotel were really nice and friendly.

Very basic, far from FCO as well as Ciampino

The place has a nice lobby. The room is VERY BARE BONES with a 15" fat TV that didn't work. We had to put a chair, climb on it and turn it on. REally? A dumb TV so far high up? The AC didn't work, called the guy, he came and checked some thigns. Then he checked central system settings and called us to say everything should work. Well, it didn't! It made noises but the room didn't cool at all. It appears that most A/C units in Italy are centrally controlled to avoid high costs to the hotel. Not only that, the bed had just white sheet, no bed cover. There was a black bug on the bed I found in the morning which explains the redness on my arms from its bite. It was black, hence not a bed bug. The walls are paper thin. The balcony can be traversed from one room to the next! The open portico like large area right next to room 300 was very noisy at 7 am! We had reached the hotel well past midnight and we needed sleep prior to our long flight. No such lock as kids were playing/screaming right next door, we could hear loud noises on the corridor, balcony and the rooms near by where we heard luggage/chairs being dragged on the floor. The breakfast was minimal with croissant, bread with no toaster, juice, coffee/tea. Given the low price of this hotel, I suppose I can't complain too much but won't ever be returning. If it was at least closed to the FCO airport, i would've felt Ok for the bad experience but I made a huge mistake with this choice!

Old rooms

The room and the bathroom was quite old and stuffy. The air con was not put on, and when we asked the reception their response was that it will be turned on only if the outside temperature hit a certain target. As a result the room was quite hot during the night.

Nice hotel out of city, close to transportation

We had a lovely time at Arcadia. The hotel staff went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable. We loved the hotel balcony and the fact that bus and metro transportation was easy to go to downtown Rome. We were able to see all the great spots of Rome without the hustle and bustle of being downtown. A nice place to rest at night. Good eating nearby as well.

Perfectly fine for a short break

Hotel was easy to find. Close to the metro. We had a hire car so also a good place to go exploring the countryside from. Room was a little noisy due to the nearby road, but was comfortable. No issues with taking keys when you head out like it says in other reviews. Problem free stay.

The description that the hotel gives does not compliment what it has. Horrible to get to and from the centre of Rome, Gym is non existent and there is no bar/lounge to unwind in.

Good on a budget

OK so three stars might be pushing it but overall the hotel was absolutely fine. Don't book it if you want a great local nightlife though or object to the travel into the city. It was fine for us as we drove, the hotel had loads of free parking and it was even underground so the car was safe and cool. Ask the staff about the bus arrangements which were basically the 507 to Anagnina for easy metro connections. The supermarket around the back is excellent for picnic stuff and nibbles and the Jolly Pizza is good too but you do feel you are in the middle of a housing estate rather than on holiday. There is no bar in the hotel which is a little strange and the gym is basically a few machines in a spooky underground room next to the car park. So not fantastic for facilities but the room was clean and cool and the fridge (not mini bar) was handy. Cleaning was good although some of the bathroom fittings were a little tired. Given the cost we paid for a hotel (close to) Rome it was ideal.

Good option for a couple or a family

It is easy to get to the city in no more than 20 minutes, there is a bus that stops just besides the hotel and takes you to the metro station which line passes through most of the main locations to visit. The rooms are clean and quiet, it is a good option to rest after a long walk in the city.

Ok hotel for budget travelers

The hotel has a good price, there is a supermarket behind it, one bus stop next to the hotel takes you to the subway in 5 min, the neighborhood is quiet and ok. The hotel has paper thin walls, breakfast hasn't the best quality but it's ok for the price. Internet not included.

Bad choice for stay in vicinity of Rome.

This hotel is more a motel, with no security, our friends had their back back with their valuables and passports stolen right from the so called lobby. No help at all from the staff even to call the police. Rooms are very very basic, no shower to speak off a low hanging hook from which, hangs a hand held shower. Our lights did not work well either. Very poor quality bedding. Far from city and airport. Not recommended. Only one pizza place in walking distance, otherwise car needed for getting around. Car park was free. Only one small lift was working out of two during our stay.

what it says on the tin

Reception staff are Excelent . Helped out with directions and many other things even got house keeping to do some ironing for me. Rooms are basic with fridge and Italian tv No tea making facilities towels changed every day. Transport to Rome may appear to be very confussing but it is very simple when you know how. little pizza place across the plaza from hotel is ok and supermarket at rear is a god send To get to rome from hotel you get ticket from reception Out side hotel get the 507 bus to anagina ( it's the main buss station with a small market you can't miss it buss actually terminates there) and seem very frequent Then get the metro to Rome the main station being termini Tip the stations on the metro in the ciry centre are very close to each other only a few hundred yards in some cases To return to hotel get the anagina metro back then get the 507 the buss it will say grotto Cellini on the front Another tip is get the Roma pass 30 euro at termini station last 3 days Unlimited travel On buss and metro and 2 free entry to 2 of the sites except Vatican Go have a blast guys we did

In the middle of nowhere

There is absolutely nothing on the hotel surroundings. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, when we asked the clerk told us we could go on the building behind and have some kebab or pizza. The place looked terrible so we didn't even try. So, make no mistake, you would only want to stay at this place if you just want a bed to sleep. The rooms are clean, I give them that, but fridge didn't work. Staff not so friendly (not rude either), seems like they are doing you a favor. For the price we paid, we were not expecting any luxury, but I recommend you spent maybe 10/20 bucks more and book a place in a better location or at least with a restaurant.

Not a Bad Hotel if you excuse the Poor Air Conditioning.

We found this a clean and reasonable quality hotel. Our major problem was the air conditioning in the two rooms we had. Essentially it was old and basically almost non functioning. This was a problem as the outside temperature was around 38C for most of our stay and this made sleeping in the rooms very uncomfortable. Under NO account let them give you room 315 as it is so hot in this room you wont be able to breath. On the plus side this hotel is reasonable value and has a small resteraunt round the corner which offers exceptional value for money in Rome!! Good food and recommended. Travelling into ROme is a doddle. Bus stops close to hotel (No507) and takes you to underground about 8 stops. Buy tickets for both at Hotel which currently cost 1 Euro. Hotel to Main Airport is about a half hour drive. Overall, if your not worried about how warm your room is gonna get or you travel outside the hot summer months then this hotel is a good choice for the budget minded.

Convenient for those who drive

We stayed at this hotel for two nights during a two week car trip from Pompeii to Venice. We wanted something that isn't too expensive, has free parking, and gives us easy access to public transportation. Arcadia met all three criteria: It's relatively inexpensive, has a ton of room for parking, both outdoors and in a gated basement parking garage operated by the hotel receptionist, and the bus to Anagnina metro station is right outside its door. Indeed, Anagnina metro station itself has a ton of parking space, a section of which is even free (at the north eastern end of the outdoor parking lot, just beyond the fence). Get a cheap public transportation day pass from the friendly tabachist down the street from the hotel and you can enjoy Rome stress-free in no time at all. The hotel itself is fairly bland. Internet access is not free (as is the case with most Italian hotels in this price range), the breakfast is standard, but there is a large PAM supermarket right next door (it's on the back side of the same building), and an athletic club with a public park and a pretty good (and not busy at all in the evening) restaurant a couple of blocks away, so you have some flexibilty in terms of your dining options if you don't plan to stay in Rome all day and all night. The neighborhood is working class, but might look rougher than it really is due to the graffiti-infested public parking areas not far from the hotel. All told, Arcadia is not a hotel we will remember for long, but it was just right for us, because it freed us to remember everything else.
