We were placed in an annex room vs the main building which was fine. The rooms are small but well appointed with a nice size bathroom. We had a balcony overlooking the Tiber River. It’s a busy road in front but then all of the core of Rome is super busy. The staff was so friendly and helpful. We were within a 2 min walk to a grocery store. 20 mins to the Vatican, 30-35 from the Colosseum, 15 min to Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps and the Pantheon. The breakfast included was great!!! Lots of choices. Would stay here again.

Service was fantastic! The room is large, lots of bedding, lots of closet space. Large comfy bed. Bathroom was spacious and clean. Breakfast was better than expected. My only recommendation would be to offer coffee in the room in addition to just tea. I would absolutely stay here again! It is centrally located but out of all the chaos!

We had a wonderful stay at Augustana House in Rome. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating throughout our visit. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast was a nice touch each morning. Great location and overall a lovely experience. We highly recommend it.

Very well maintained and clean property with a friendly and accommodating staff. The neighborhood was quiet but completely walkable to Vatican, Trastevere and the Spanish Steps, Trevi fountain and Pantheon. They also have a cool, old fashioned elevator. Highly recommend.

We had a room in a basement pretty much with no elevator. The air conditioning in the room did not quite work The breakfast is nothing like your pictures. The ladies from the front desk were very nice but that’s the best part of this stay. Your prices are very high for what you offered or at least what you provided us. I won’t recommend you to a friend or family.

Location and comfort

The location of Augustana House is perfect. We enjoyed the helpfulness of the staff! We were worried the first night because our air conditioner was not working properly but the staff had it looked at and cleaned and we had no more issues. On the website it does say that laundry serous offered, but it is not. However, the staff recommended a self serve laundry facility quite close to the House.

We booked the junior suite based on previous European hotel experiences. As noted in previous reviews, it is next to the restaurant’s trash dumping and pick up. We asked for early check in which they could not accommodate however the staff graciously stored our luggage for us while we explored Rome. We came back to check in and they had moved our luggage into our room which was so nice because the room was downstairs. It was a narrow set of stairs and there was no lift. The junior suite had 2 rooms with split system ACs. The one in bedroom did not cool the room. It wasn’t unbearable and the front room stayed very cool. After a night of adjustment, we made it work. The location was amazing for 2-3 days in Rome. A few notes for travelers: you have to be buzzed in and out of gates and doors when coming and going from hotel. There are limited amenities however staff are helpful and very kind. Grab water while walking around Rome and there is a nice place (photo below) around the corner for drinks, dinner, etc.
