I wanted to escape the craziness of the city life style, and discovered a peaceful retreat next to the ocean shoreline. The spacious clean studio has everything that you need for comfortable leisure from cooking a home meal to enjoying a movie and quietness of a rural life. The host has been easily accessible via text messaging and promptly replied to my inquiries about the places to visit locally. And, there are plenty of interesting things to see and do around the area.

PEACEFUL & BEAUTIFUL!

A very nice, quaint little slice of New England with a partial view of the ocean and lighthouse. It's a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood, and the host, Mary Jane was very helpful in recommending a few places for breakfast, dinner, etc. Thank you Mary Jane!

A perfect overnight stay

We were looking for a spot to stay overnight in the area and MaryJane's place was perfect - very clean and roomy, with plenty of space for three of us to spread out and sleep comfortably. MaryJane was very responsive and accommodating - we would definitely stay here again!

Rock port getaway!

Although it was a short visit to rock port I couldn't be more happy with my stay at this location it was very clean , cozy and somewhat private.. in addition the surrounding neighborhood was nice as well.. I would recommend staying there and I will look forward to booking another stay in the future. It was just a wonderful time!

My Mom and I wanted a place where we could visit our favourite places (Rockport, Rocky Neck, Gloucester, Wingaeraheek (sp?) Beach and do some shopping. Mary Jane’s place was perfect for us, and steps away from the ocean. It’s not a super modern place, and minimal food prep areas, but that was fine with us. I slept on the futon, my Mom took the bed - it’s a studio apt so if privacy is important to you, just note that. We had a couple of hiccups during our stay but Mary Jane addressed both immediately. We’d return.

Nowhere in this listing did it mention that this unit was upstairs. My wife is disabled and hasn’t been able to climb stairs for three years. This ruined our vacation. We left a day early because she was concerned that the progress she has made with her back issues would be lost. This studio I’d not suited to seniors or those with medical issues. The owner when informed of the situation said “that’s too bad” and “maybe I should be more clear in my description of the property”. Ya think! I also fell as I was getting ready to leave carrying the suitcases down the steep set of stairs. I slipped on the gravel driveway and tumbled down a small bank until a tree stopped me. Two city workers saw me fall and came to help me. I told this to the owner and she said “that’s too bad”. I am not a happy camper and obviously will never stay there again.
