I found the hotel clean and well located close to the airport. I was surprised there was no bell man to assist with the luggage despite being at a 5 star hotel. This could be added. In addition, I was not able to order room service despite calling several times- no one answered. I very much appreciated the late check out and the front desk staff was great. Overall a a wonderful stay but a few things could be improved upon.

The location is great! The facilities are good, too. The room was good, too, but you can hear next door depending on the room assignment (some rooms share a door with next door, that’s why their noises will be audible). The bathroom is good; the shower head had the right pressure, but the lights could be brighter in there. I didn’t get the chance to experience the pool or the bar. Breakfast was wonderful, with many options of pastries, fruits, and omelets.

This reservation was made for members of my family, with payment scheduled to be charged to the credit card registered in my Expedia account. I would not be present at the time of check-in. On the day of arrival, my family contacted me to inform that the hotel was requiring the physical presentation of the credit card or payment in cash. When I spoke with a staff member, I was informed that the payment could be accepted as long as I sent an email confirming my details and attaching a copy of my identification. I explained that I would not send a copy of any personal document but could authorize the payment via email or, if necessary, arrange for payment in cash. After speaking with the manager, the staff member agreed to proceed with the check-in upon receiving my email authorization and processing the payment using the card already registered with Expedia.

The location of the hotel in the more local part of the city allowed for a more chill and authentic feel in Lapa. Plently of food, bars, and nighlife options were available next to the hotel. Staff was attentive and very helpful along with a beautiful property.

The check-in was ok, but my room was so noisy despite I asked for a quiet one.. it also had a lot of broken stuff.. A/C.. door knob.. & so on.. they did change it to a bigger & quieter one, but again sometimes they would only provide one towel.. leave hair & tissues on the floor.. etc…

The hotel seems old with respect to what I expected in the pictures. They are also very strict with check in time and in a city where flights from Europe usually land in the morning I felt it was predatory and cheap of them to charge me for an extra night.
