"We had a great time at Rhulani, with the most unique feature we enjoyed being the Tsembo Hide. The Luxury Private Chalet was a good size for my husband and I and our our two children. The heated plunge pool was an hit with our kids. Our chalet did run out of hot water quite quickly, so keep this in mind if you’re hoping for a long outdoor shower! Our guide Alisdair was great and our game drives were exceptional. I appreciated that Rhulani accommodated me as a vegetarian and the food was decent (not anything to write home about but ok). My husband and children enjoyed their meat options but did have a hard time cutting the meat as no steak knives were provided. I would have liked a bit more options for food prior to the morning game drives and a more substantial snack on the morning drive (sometimes we didn’t stop at all for a snack). I found myself absolutely starving after getting up at 4am and not having breakfast until almost 9am some days. We found Rhulani to be a small lodge with not a lot of interaction between guests or with staff. This was fine for us as travellers with small kids. However, if travelling solo or as a couple/friend group you may want a slightly bigger lodge with more of a “vibe” at night (we have previously been on a similar safari prior to having kids and enjoyed the evening atmosphere at the other lodge we stayed at where guests would socialize etc ). Overall we had a great time and would go to Rhulani again! "

"Everything about the room was very good. The food was excellent and there is a good selection of included drinks to wash it down. The photography hide by the water hole gives you a great perspective to get pictures that a bit different from the usual safari shots. The game drives were first class. Our driver was knowledgeable and keen to make sure we saw a great selection of animals including, wild dogs, lions, cheetahs and rhinos. He could improve his jokes though."
