Gorgeous hotel, central to the Historic area. There is not a lot of sound proofing so bring ear plugs, but otherwise very very impressed

We had a lovely time at the hotel San Francisco, staff was helpful and accommodating. We will definitely come back to this hotel in a heartbeat! Location was perfect, it was centrally located in the heart of old Quito, walking distance from all the local shops and restaurants.

I recently stayed at Hotel San Francisco de Quito, and I can’t recommend it enough! The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk from all the must-see tourist spots, making it super convenient to explore the city. The hotel itself is charming and comfortable, with attentive staff who truly make you feel at home. I loved being able to stroll around and soak in the local culture. If you’re visiting Quito, this is definitely the place to stay!

Clean, walkable property to lay your head. Had to park about a mile away. The desk clerk said the walk was " a couple blocks". I live in Ecuador, my son came to visit. His first time to Ecuador. Wanted his time here to be special (memorable). Booked a double suite. Gave me a triple suite that was nowhere near a nice room. My room was better. Finally changed rooms. That room was a bit better, but it looked like severe water damage on the ceiling. Normally stay at a different hotel when I have to come to the big city. I will go back to that hotel next time.

Fantastic hotel

The staff were fantastic, they helped me see tour options and arranged the taxi pick up and drop off for the airport run. They explained where things were e.g. the metro station and where my pick up point was for a tour I was going on. They were really friendly and professional, always smiling and happy to help make my stay the best. The hotel itself was also amazing, the atmosphere was really good and friendly. I’ll recommend and will stay again if I’m ever back in Quito. It’s also very close to lots of attractions. Thank you for a great stay.

An incredible historic hotel in the walkable historic center of Quito. The staff were friendly and helpful. They provided great advice and recommendations. They helped set up transportation to the airport. It felt safe and secure and had wonderful access to the roof to see the skyline.

My wife and I stayed four days in an inside room on the second floor street side. The room was large and had very high windows covered with some material to block vision. The hallway was very old hardwood floor and everytime someone walked past the room in addition to their foosteps there was an accompanying sound which I atribute to the loose floorboards stretching. The breakfast was one serving each of diced eggs, bread, fruit and a beverage. After checking in we discovered that the hotel had several upstairs rooms offering panoramic views of Quito. The desk clerk explained that they were all reserved and only the inside rooms were available. My opinion is that the hotel is an ok place and that it would be best to reserve an upstairs room with a view.

A rather charmingly designed old colonial, Spanish style accommodation with responsible, attentive, front desk, shuttle and breakfast service. The roof top view after climbing several small flights of stairs was a thrill. Staying in any of the courtyard area rooms, however, is problematic to say the least for anyone wishing a good night of sleep. When booking this hotel, guests should specifically ask for any of the upper or alternate rooms and insist they avoid the courtyard rooms. We were in a courtyard room that, like others, did not even have a solid barrier against light or sound, just a thin plastic window covering that transmitted all kinds of unwanted light and noise, from loud courtyard visiting guests to the front desk phone ringing throughout the night. Sleep was at a minimum. Unfortunately, we leave Quito far more tired than we should have.

Such a wonderful place. Just around the corner is Niza cafe - a Quito breakfast staple. What we struggled with was the fact that sound travels, we could hear every conversation of all the guests. Also, if you are there for business, the WiFi signal does not reach the bedrooms - I didn’t mind that.

Very friendly, great location!

All the staff were exceptional. Breakfast was limited but okay. I requested a room with a view, but didn’t realize it was 6 floors up—with no elevator! Do I asked for a lower-level room and got one on the third floor. The next night I moved to a lower floor, however, it was very noisy. Good thing I had my ear plugs. The location is fantastic!
