Family Luxury for a Night!

Well, my husband had won baseball tickets on a radio call in show. That left me toom to budget for something fantastic, preferably walking distance. Travelocity's site had recycled, as I had gone to book a two bed. The hotel was fantastic about getting us a weel in for our 8yr old. Upon arrival, the gentlman at the front desk asked if we were there for the game, and would like a room with a view, so he put us up high. He even gave him an unusable room card to keep for his treasure box, as a memento. It was amazing! They were so polite and accommodating, the whole time. It was very clean. The vale (sorry, spell chek on my phone is acting up) service was a huge relief, so that our car was more secure. We will book again here, for our next trip, if possible!

Great hotel downtown.

Percent location in downtown Phoenix. Luxury at a great price point. I highly recommend this hotel for ball games. Outstanding. Valet parking but I recommend parking garage around the corner.

I prefer the Westin

Pros: Proximity to Chase Field.
Overall, it's a fine hotel in a fine location. But all things considered, I find the Westin a much more enjoyable experience. It's far more spacious and feels lighter and brighter, and usually less expensive too. The rooms at the Renaissance are ok but due to the age of the building, I assume, the rooms feel incredibly claustrophobic - the ceilings are very low (I don't know how a man over 6' could shower) and even the windows feel like they're closing in. I can also attest that the walls are pretty thin as I was up until after 1am hearing the activities in the next room. The food was overpriced for the quality (typical), but I can't complain about the service. The bar tender Rhonda was wonderful and kept us entertained while we waited for the room (which I had been told would be ready early when I called, but of course was not ready when we arrived). For the price on a Wednesday night? Even with the Yankees in town? Not worth it.

Not too bad

We had a great view, walking distance from venue. Was disappointed that we had to pay for valet parking even though we stayed there. I have yet to be at a motel that has the right size shower curtains and a taller shower head. Needs a fan in the restroom. Very comfy bed, clean, cool and relaxing.

This hotel was very well priced for what you got.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
I was kind of blown away when we walked in. First of all, valet only is very convenient, even for $23 a day. The only problem was, there was a few events going on in the hotel, so wait times were kind of long. This is the only hotel I've stayed in, where the pictures and description online are absolutely accurate. It seemed VERY fancy at first, and then mellowed out in the hallways. I think it's a very neat mix of elegance and value. Thank you!

23$ parking per day...really!

Cons: Noisy, 23$ valet only parking
Staff was friendly and eager to help however Wyndham hotels needs to be more concerned about the integrity and honesty of the hidden costs. Main two complaints #1 Parking is valet only at $23 per day. #2 don't forget your razor! The gift shop is happy to take advantage of your situation. Forgot my razor...$16.99 later for one blade...yea you get the picture. Not cool Wyndham! BTW this is the first complaint that I've ever been compelled to write.

Great weekend value

Pros: Close restaurants
A nice place to stay on the weekend with very good rates. Walk to several restaurants and the sports stadiums. Take the the light rail to the airport and other parts of the city. NOT an active downtown on the weekend so don't expect a crowd. Starbucks in the hotel is closed on the weekend as were several neighborhood restaurants.

Great location, contemporary room, but lacking a safe

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, near light rail
Cons: no in-room safe
When I travel on business to Phoenix, I prefer to stay here. The location is great. Close to offices downtown and the light rail for when you want to go out for some night life or visit with friends. The rooms are clean, efficient, elegant and contemporary. The only catch is that the last time I stayed there, the room was lacking a safe. This may be a deal breaker for those who travel with sensitive equipment/documents.
